Hey gang -
I sold my 2001 Disco II last year and forgot I had parts stil laying around. I was getting ready to do the Intake Plenum and Valve Covers but sold it before getting around to it.

Hey gang -
I have a 2000 Disco 2 with about 83,000 on the clock. Over the last few weeks it has developed an intermittent hesitation/jerking that I notice mainly at higher 40-50+ speeds.
I first noticed it a couple weeks ago on the freeway at about 70 mph: it felt like the engine was...
So the weirdest two things happened today...
I am getting ready to do a bunch of preventive maintenance on my Disco/get it ready for some summer fun so I take it to Les Schwab to have the tires rotated, the underside checked out etc.
I go back a few hours later to pick it up and get this: they...
Hi gang. Disco is dead for now. Coolant just ain't staying in (it looks like it is coming from the passenger exhaust manifold) and I am reading myself for the bad news. I will try to take it like a man.
It overheated yesterday a couple blocks from home and I am not driving it any more until...
Hi all -
I have a 2000 Disco with about 77k on the clock.
For a couple years or so, I have noticed the coolant level seems to decline slightly. I would need to top it up every couple months or so. The throttle body heater plate was identified as the source of the leak (based on the crusty...
Hi all -
I've been trying to track down some rough start and hesitation issues on my 2000 DII (65k). I know the DI folks clean their stepper motors to solve a lot of problems - it sounds like the DII doesn't have a stepper motor, but a Idle Air Control Valve.
Any use in taking it off and...
Hi folks, here's the subject:
2000 Disco II 65k, fairly recent battery ('bout 2 months old, very well maintained).
The Disco would not start this morning after driving it to coffee. It started up normally at the house and drove in with no problems. Got coffee and came back out after approx. 5...
Some of you may remember my question about the accessibility of the fuel rail schrader valve from last week (on a D2).
I had two different opinoins: one saying the valve was not accessible without removing the intake plenum, one saying the valve could be accessed.
I'm here to tell you folks...
Sound like O2 sensors? I've also been trying to diagnose a stumble at startup problem and seemingly worse fuel economy.
P1172 - System Too Rich, Bank A & Bank B
P1175 - Lambda control adaption fault bank 2.Last occurrence - minimum signal
As usual, thanks. I owe you all *another* beer...
Anyone able to help a newbie out?
I spent some time looking tonight, but nothing was obvious to me.
Everyone talks about the "fuel rail" like it's as obvious as the gas cap. I want to check the pressure, but can't even find where I'd hook the gauge.
Specifically the rail and the valve/port...

It actually doesn't look terribly bad considering what hit it.
Original story found here (not that I expect the mess of a link to work)...
OK -
2000 Disco II, 64k miles. I did the 60k last November which included OEM plugs and wires.
Recently during morning start-ups the engine would fire, turn over and "stumble" for a moment before revving up fully to life. The stumble only lasted 1 second or less and it would sound like it...
*UPDATED* Power Steering fluid resivoir looks like a hot tub with the blower on.
OK folks, the dumbass of the day award goes to me. I said my brake fluid resivoir was a churning mess, it's my *power steering* resivoir....
Ugh. The last post about having ACE or not got me. I started to reply...
Looking for a set of tires for my stock Disco.
Tires should be fairly new with verified mileage (I don't want to be shopping again in a couple years), but would consider tires with up to 20k depending on price. Not interested in plugs/repaired tires.
Located near Portland, Seattle area...

I just got a code reader at lunch to check what was causing the SES light. This is what I found:

P0171 System Too Lean (Bank 1)

I use Google as a spell checker on occasion.
Google is fast and I usually have an instance of IE running so the convenience factor is there too.
Plus, it's a good bet that most people on the Internet have correctly spelled what I'm looking for and Google is always willing to point that out...
Came home for lunch to meet the chimney sweepers. I park on the street to let them have the driveway.
As I'm walking to the house, I notice an Exxon Valdeze style oil slick on my driveway - in the Disco parking spot. <knot in stomach> So I'm all pissed off because my Disco has been virtually...
Don't say Expedition Exchange because I'm looking for a Seamaster.
I thought I had a great deal on one through a friend-of-a-friend but it's not going to work. I have found a few deals online, but nothing overly compelling.
Hoping dweb has some good ideas.
TIA.
