Sound like O2 sensors? I've also been trying to diagnose a stumble at startup problem and seemingly worse fuel economy.

P1172 - System Too Rich, Bank A & Bank B

P1175 - Lambda control adaption fault bank 2.Last occurrence - minimum signal

As usual, thanks. I owe you all *another* beer.

Both of those codes indicate the engine is running too rich, and the injectors connot make up for it.

2 Likely candidates would be leaking injectors, or the MAF. Both are very possible. And, your on the right track by checking fuel pressure.

I'll try and get my hands on a gauge. I went to 3 auto parts stores last night and couldn't find a gauge that went up to 60 psi, 15 was the highest I found and from what I understand the pressure should be roughly double that.

I have my RAVE cd back (loaned to a friend last night), I should be able to find the fuel pressure valve with that, right?

How difficult is it to remove the fuel rail/injectors? I'd like to try this as a DIY, but have an extended warranty. Taking it to the dealer to make my warranty company pay up is not out of the question. However, that is always such an amazingly painful process....

me three ^^^^ i want to check fuel press also. does the DII have schader type fitting for hooking up the gauge?

those gauges you found that only went to 15 psi were for carburated engines by the way, probably had vaccum on them as well yes?

I did a search and found a thread concerning these codes. The guy mentioned there that his thermostat had gone bad and basically the engine was running too cold and that was the cause of the codes. New thermo, no more codes.

I had to use my heat over the weekend... guess what, it was anything but warming. Im putting in a new thermo tonight. If it doesn't clear the codes, atleast I won't be working the cold.

Hmm, something funny is going on here. My Mitchel OnDemand computer says those are lean codes, you say rich.

Which is it?
