    New radiator ESR3687 for Discovery I & RRC 1995

Sorry, no longer available... I have a brand-new radiator, ESR3687, which fits all Discovery I 1994-1999. Also the correct radiator for 1995 Range Rover Classic. Will probably fit earlier RRC, but I am not the expert. This is a factory original radiator, not aftermarket, and not a recore etc.

Another Engine Ticking Question - DII - '00

Could be a rocker arm. The rockers are aluminum with a steel cup "staked" into the rocker arm side which pushes on the pushrod. There seems to be a period of time somewhere late 1990's to around 2002 (or so) where bad batches of rocker shafts were built. What happens is the "staking" of the...

    Oxygen sensor replacement

If you are changing O2 sensors on a D1, you need to determine if you have the early model sensors or the (somewhere around 1997) Advanced Evaporate Loss (AEL) system. The AEL vehicles can be recognised by the rectangular-shaped emission (charcoal?) canister on the passenger side of the engine...

Do head gasket leaks progress quickly?

Try to investigate if the coolant could be leaking DOWN from the intake manifold. The intake manifolds are more prone to leaks, and that could run down the back of the engine and seem to be coming from the head mating surface. If it is the intake, that would be a simpler task than the head...

    Radiator

This is a fairly easy DIY job. The most difficult part (IMHO) are the oil cooler connections. They can be corroded and difficult to loosen. Otherwise, the rubber hoses to the engine are straightforward, and the whole radiator basically lifts out after a few brackets are unbolted.

    Radiator

I have a brand-new factory original Discovery I (auto trans) radiator available here, however similar to what others have said, the cost was over $350. It is the real thing though... unfortunately it is in Ontario.

    GEMS 4.6 into D1 discussion

The crank, rods & pistons (as a set) from a 4.6 engine can be inserted into a 4.0 block, as the bare block is the same. You may have to verify that the crank throws don't touch the casting and maybe grind off some aluminum to avoid that, but the block is the same. For the ECU, it could be...

Jump Seat Swap - Please advise

Yes, you should have no problem to fit them. Attaching points are in the body already. Are you getting the side panels (trim boards)? If not, you will need to cut holes in yours to expose the mounting points...

Disco I genuine front brake rotor coating

Or do nothing as stated by the local dealership. They said just bolt them on and go... but I do agree about cleaning them of any grease or such.

Disco I genuine front brake rotor coating

Might seem a stupid question... Genuine LR brake rotors for the D1 (FRC7329) have a black protective coating (paint??) on them. Does this coating need to be removed or scuffed off when the rotors are first installed? I have not been able to find any answers to this. The black does seem to...

    Brake Parts in Canada

If you are still looking for "local" sources, do you have any Partsource outlets (www.partsource.ca) there? This is a Canadian Tire spin-off, and they carry more product line than CT. They even have Land Rover listings. I purchased brake pads for my D1 there when I needed some in a rush... On...

    Check Engine Light

Go somewhere to get the OBD-II codes read, as suggested. One common reason for the code is an Oxygen Sensor slowly dying. The CEL can light up and clear automatically, however as you have seen, it usually comes on again pretty soon!

    Too Cool

Like he said ^^^ the LONG warm-up could be the thermostat. I had that about 3 years ago. It's inexpensive and EASY to replace. Buy the proper one, even from the dealer... really! As for the gurgling, maybe you need to top up MORE in the coolant tank. For your leaks, can you relate the...
