I was wondering if the cup holders they put on the new LR Discos will fit on a earlier model (98)??

Not only do they fit perfectly, they are a huge improvement over the existing crappy tray concept which never should have gotten further than the stoopid idea stage !
I put a set in my '96 last winter and the install was quite easy. A couple of holes to drill for the retaining screws and locating nipple and you're pretty much done.
Now I can actually see and access the HVAC controls without having to move my drink. I've been toying with the idea of modifying the useless cup tray into an iPod cradle, but the location is not ideal and again there will be obstruction of the HVAC :(
Try looking on eBay, you can sometimes find used ones for a decent price, as well as new ones for slightly less than the stealership.

I have a pair of beige/tan ones, and no Disco for them any more... sold the truck a month ago. Contact me and we can work something out.

SORRY, THEY HAVE BEEN SOLD!

I need to buy a pair of these. I think its a problem when I go into a gas station to buy a bottle of water and I have to figure out which one will fit in my cup holder. Poland Spring seems to work the best. Worst case scenario I put the water bottle in the map pocket.

I wish there was a good spot for my cell phone too... Usually it sits between the t-case shifter and the plastic wall but it usually ends up flying under a seat.

Just be carefull that you're buying genuine LR ones. You can tell this because they will have a small oil leak.

I got mine from Will Tillery about a month ago. Check to see if he has any left. Good price and no screwing around with idiots on ebay bidding up dirty used ones past the price of new. Money well spent. I thought my knee would bang against the driver side one but it has never bothered me.
