Pretty women have been posing with differant kinds of auto-mobiles since...well, pretty much as long as automobiles have been something cherished by the men who drive them.

We are not looking for pantie and bra, or even bathing suite submissions...since that seems to be what your beef is, but what you need to understand is when you request submissions from people...you will get all kinds of submissions....believe me...and people tend to get their feelings hurt when you disregard their submissions for this reason or that.

Our intentions are not to offend any of the Lady Rover Community, but certain people in the Rover Community seem to have an all knowing holier than thou attitude about everything Rover, because they own and drive one.

I rode a Harley Davidson for years....and rode with many women who rode, and repaired their own bikes....if they were from the hardcore side you could bet you would see an EasyRider Magazine on their coffee table....and took no offense from the lady who posed and appeared with the bike on the cover and in the feature layout.

The Rover & Girls was not my brain child ...it was a question asked by someone on a web forum...of why you never see any pretty ladies posing with Land Rovers....is it a cardinal sin or something....well,

I'm one who sometimes chooses to swim against the current and I myself being a photographer had wondered the same things, so hopefully in the future for those VERY FEW...maybe one or two Rover Lovers....we will put out a very TASTEFUL calendar with pretty females and Land Rovers.

Again, posing can be in a tee-shirt and blue jeans for all we care....or I posted the picture on the submissions page because I myself like the more sophisticated classy look....but I understand that is my own preference and many don't. Women can be wearing business suite...my favorite would actually be some women Rover owners actually out on the trail in their rigs....like this:

So again all are welcomed to submit...or for those women who want to continue to be offended by the idea...well then I guess you will just have to remain offended instead of sending in some great shots of you and your truck that could actually be in a Calendar.

Instead of being offended and snarling up your noise at the thought of it. Why don't you ladies take a more proactive approach and submit your own shots of you and your own truck and what you would want to see in this calendar and on our site.

I'm not totally offended. I'm sure there are LOTS of guys who would like to see what you have requested as submissions.....

I'm pretty much hands-off on this subject. Not my thing so I won't participate, but I'm not the kind of person to say it shouldn't exist. It's a free world....and internet!

Plus, I'm a pretty sarcastic girl....take my posts with a grain of salt, k?! And, fwiw, I think the pic you put up on the main Rovers/Girls page is relatively classy, so I respect that.

Oh and back to Tidewater Rovers....I'll probably order something from John as I have had no trouble with his communication, and I respect the fact that he reprimanded his web developer for yanking Dap's pictures. It was not his fault directly. And, like Jen posted, I have ordered from DAP as well and have no quams with their service, website, etc.

Just to clarify.....we did send out one huge SPAM email the week we opened our site.....we got the email addresses from a bought and paid for email list. The way these lists are acquired are sometimes with web bots and crawlers. If you have listed an email address on a website some where, then it is a big possibility that you may get some spam in your in-box someday.

I DO NOT LIKE SPAM.....I ACTUALLY HATE IT and am a big time advocate of killing 95% of it. I have gotten over 2000 spam emails in one day along with other regular important emails to have to shift through to find what is real and what is junk.

So you can rest assured that we will not be sending out spam about our site on a everyday basis. We did purchase one email list with about 500 Land Rover email addys on it. About 200 of those emails were just returned mail, because the address no longer existed. That's what you get when you purchase email list though.

As far as sending out pm's or private messages....I have absolutely no idea what you are referring too. I have been banned from Dweb for almost a year and unable to access the forum....Axel just unbanned me yesterday.

I am not going to force my presents on any of you here if I'm not welcome...or I am not going to try to steal your loyalty away from Dweb.....Dweb is a 10 times better site at this point than my site. I hope one day my site can be half of what Ho, Axel, and Kyle has created here. Myself, I have around 6 different Land Rover web forums marked in my favorites that I read and sometimes post. Dweb was always at the top of my list.

The web is a HUGE place...and is more than big enough for all of our Land Rover sites. If you don't like our site or hate it...that is your perogative....we are not twisting your arm to go there. If Dweb serves all of your Land Rover purposes...than by all means stay here and don't visit our site.

If our board only has 50 members or so forever than so be it ...it is a FREE site....we just really hope not to get the childish element that makes some people despise Dweb.....the few dwebbers who think of themselves as the all knowing kings of mud and wheelin...than think it is their job to insult new or unexperienced Land Rover Enthusiast or board members are the members we are more than willing to do without and don't want.

I think Axel and I both agree on this one.... we don't understand what it is about the Rover Community that brings out so much negativity in people. I have been members of 100's of web forums over the years....and personally I have never seen another board unless political based with so many people standing at the ready to try to belittle someone and make them feel bad.

I'm a free speech type of guy and I don't get into banning members from forums, but I feel for the Dweb Crew and I hope moderating our board never turns out to be a full time job (nightmare) like this board. If it does than I will more than likely shut it down...because I will not put up with some of what goes on here and again like I said I am not into banning members. We have created a non-moderated place where people can venture to flame...but everything must stay in that catagory. We are more interested in Tech and Truck talk then flame threads and drama. If you want drama watch soaps, don't come to our board. That Simple...we don't want you and never will.

Now I will address the adult site issue.....I have been working in websites for over 10yrs ....all websites....adult was my first endevor...and I still own and maintain a few adult websites...and just shut down a whole network of sites called the Wild Wives Network....I am not bragging about it, but I will not cower and hide from the fact either. I do go to exesive links to keep that seperate from everyday legit work.

I have made allot of money over the years with adult sites, but I am sick of that business and completely burnt out on it....as I find it some what slimy as well....but again I don't judge other people that isn't my job. I also hope to be able to shut the WWinc site down as well, but right now it is a huge source of my income bringing in over $4k a month....and with shutting the other sites down has taken away almost half of my income on a monthly basis...but to me it has been worth it.

I have to juggle email addys for over 10 websites....the email that was sent out to Keptin was a mistake as my email program is suppose to automatically set my email addy as the one that was sent to, but do to a glitch it did not....it has since been fixed because of that exact issue.

I have been working the last year to build totally legit mainstream websites that will bring in enough income so I can shut all of my adult sites down....building free sites like MyRover is not going to help that issue, but I built myrover because of my love for Land Rovers not because I was hoping to make money with the site....we are selling ad space and using advertisements which is another thing that in my opinion makes Dweb a more desirable site if you don't like seeing adverts on sites and many don't including myself...but they are there and we want our site to be Vendor friendly and we will sell ad space to Dweb or EE or RTE and have already been contacted by Mary at SG and had her tell us via email they wanted ad space and would get us a banner that day asap and have never heard a word back from her...and she contacted us wasn't vice versa...but no big deal they may have changed their mind.

I work very hard to always keep my adult stuff completely separate from my main stream, again I regret that email addy was ever sent out with that adult address, but it was. If you want to call me slimly then so be it...I myself am not much for calling names...that ended for me back in grade school.

I shoot lots of legit models and stuff that has NOTHING to do with adult....I have shot Ambercrombie & Fitch ad spots to more recently working with Von Dutch...on location in Miami. I do lots of different things to produce a monthly income and I never keep all of my eggs in one basket...which is a rule of thumb I learned to live by a long time ago when you are self employed and work for yourself from home.

OK, Brian I apologize for sending any spam mail to you....I said I hate spam...and the web should be rid of 95% of it and 90% of that 95 should be bots and viruses that send out ads for Viagra or penis enlargements, or other Trojan viruses. I never said I don't send spam...it is a proven fact that it is the most viable marketing tool on the Internet for advertisement...my problem is with the people who continue to abuse the system. You have not received more than one spam from us I promise...because we only sent one site opening announcement out.
