Han sold his cool white classic to Dave Lara who installed a 4.6 in it. It's in good hands. The one that rolled I think is Tom Tanji (could be wrong).

Yes, Tom and Sharon. I was in front of Tom when he laid it down - not my favorite moment to see that in the rear-view, but an awesome trail nonetheless - Dishpan Springs - the Devil's Slide - if I recall.

I wonder how much his tires contributed to that.

John; I was wondering the exact same thing. When I opened up the photo; the first thing I noticed was the oddity of those tires on the truck. Not that it was on it's side. LOL. With that front winch bumper, you'd think he would not go anywhere near a trail like that without the proper tread on his feet. Hope everyone involved was okay.

Wow, that must have been a hard decision! But if you have to pass one on, getting a nice new engine would be the way to go. I can only hope my Disco will have the same fate some day.

I'm digging that G4 though....would be a sweet daily driver AND a trail truck!

Yeah, if he had a beer before I'm sure he would have been more at ease and slowed down. But everyone would have pointed a finger and said, "see, see Beer bad". Funny thing is, of the 3 roll overs I have personally witnessed, all 3 were from drivers who didn't have anything to drink on breaks.

Funny thing is, of the literally thousands of accidents I have been to over the last 20 year, alcohol has played a role in easily half of those if not more. The vast majority of those accidents were on road but some were off road. How you can say someone could be a better driver after a beer or two is beyond my comprehension.

i'm pretty sure john was being facetious.

I am sure he was, at least I hope he was. The scary thing is that many people, even some firemen that I have worked with over the years believe that they are better drivers with a few on board.

nothing to do with tires. It is a tippy spot, but not that bad.

agreed.

tires matter little on dishpan springs, especially when descending through that spot rather than climbing.
