I'd just like to remind you that you are a dying breed - well, maybe not you personally, but your aging Rovers definitely. You are only going to see more and more "shit models" sharing your trails as the years go by, and you will only grow exponentially more bitter and annoyed towards these losers coming out of f*cking everywhere, to the point where you may pop an artery or something! So, take it easy, dude.

Wait till your 40 onboard computers take a shit! & you have the pleasure of buying OEM! Your ass will be looking begging fo a shit model to keep up you LRLifestye!

Peter, that looks like something I may have written... Yes, of course technology marches on and it can be a curse. So far (50K miles) none of my "computers" have malfunctioned. Perhaps they were just waiting for my factory warranty to expire, we'll see what happens this week.

Umberto,

the way to look at it is to count points of ultimate failure (that is, you are walking for a tow truck). The sooner you start doing that, the sooner you'll accumulate a set of spare parts covering most of these points. You have to be pretty good at assigning risk factors.
For instance, a failed crankshaft position sensor on an OBD-2 truck (96-on) will leave you stranded. But there's no significant history of such failures. Most sensors on an early OBD-2 engine can be faked or bypassed; most of what you need is a spare ECU or/and spider box (immobilizer), and, maybe, a spare fuel pump. There's very few other points of failure in a D1.
P38 guys have already learned their vulnerabilities and how to deal with them. For many, the answer is to have their own Rovacom.
So... of course it is cool to have all the advantages of an RRS. Now you can start making your list. How many things can you think of yet?

Tell me more about Rovacom / Rovacom Light, please. I understand modules for 05+ (LR3 and RRS) have just been released. Sorry, I guess this should go under a different thread.

Obviously Peter hasn't actually read LRL Magazine. We focus on ALL types of LR owners...not just new owners. I know this because I'm the Editor of the magazine and I own a '95 D90 and a '94 RR Classic...in fact, I've never owned a new Land Rover. (And in good part for the same reasons listed in this recent post.)

Maybe factual wasn't the right word...how about, "Keepin' it real"?

Yeah, after 10-below-zero camping on my way to Death Valley...I was listening to Jimmy Buffet and dreaming of margaritas in the heat of Death Valley. But after the first two pitchers I decided they were too much trouble to make so I just drank the tequilla instead!

Question for those who know him:
Did Han Chung sell his white 04 Disco to get the G4 MKiii?
I loved his Disco, but his white RRC was my favorite...just wondering if he still has them both?

You know the tequilla was actually left by the door to my Tentrax...so I imported it to Montana. And don't knock Soju and Tequilla and beer and Fuse/Vodka, until you've tried it! After 1,475 miles in my D90 to Death Valley I think I deserved it...my ears are still ringing.

Too funny. My friends all think I'm too confrontational. It depends on the subject really. Plus, I didn't want to get into a war of words with a dude who runs a giff of a young asian boy who looks like he's locked in a closet. (What the hell is that all about?) Lord only knows what else he's hiding in that closet.
