I searched and couldn't find anything related to my question.
My seat switches have come loose in my console,,,, again. The seat switch mounting plate has 4 little tabs that hold it into the console and they have sheered off and now anytime that I hit a bump on the road they dang switches fall...
This will be more for people that might be having a similar issue, and what it took to fix my Discovery.
A little back ground first, 99 Disco 1, 4.6 swapped in about 5,000 miles ago. I was not having any issues after the swap until about 4,000 miles ago, I had driven out about 20 miles and...
I am selling my front bumper on my Land Rover, I am going to build something different. Nothing wrong with the ARB Bull Bar other than some slight surface rust, could use a good paint job. I modified the outsides of the bumper for a slim line look to take care of the bulkiness that the normal...
I did a search but couldn't find anything.
Anyone installed an aluminum radiator in a RRC? My 88 doesn't have the oil cooler or anything so I don't need to worry about finding a radiator with that built in. I was thinking about something like what Ron Davis Racing offers, or something from...

And some sawzall action to the front fenders!!! :applause:
OME HD springs, and some 285 Yokohama Geolanders, some highly technical sawzall action.... ;) and you are set for STREET DRIVING only!!! HAHA!!! I think I am going to need more lift or more sawzall....
Anyone know what size the exhaust gasket (olive gasket) is for a 88 Classic? I need one and was going to try and source it from a local parts house. Atlantic British and the LR parts manual don't list the dimensions.
Hey guys I am in the process of rebuilding a 3.9 for my Classic and I was just wondering if it would be worth it to purchase a performance timing chain and gear kit instead of just a replacement kit?
I am going to used timing chain and gears made for the Buick 231 V-6 (straight swap from my...
Ok guys, what are your thoughts on this...
I bought an 88 Range for a smokin deal, and after a little tinkering I have decided that the motor is worn out (no torque, wont really rev over 4K RPM), I have done everything else I can think of to bring what little power the motor had to begin with...
I have a Detroit locker set-up in a third member for the rear of a Disco 1, also have Rovertracks HD axle shafts for the rear. I have run this set-up for about 7000 miles and when I bought it, it had about 2500 miles on it. Gears are quiet and axles are not twisted. $700 obo

Hypothetical question...
If I have $1800.00 to spend can I cleanly fit 35's on my Disco, what I have done so far is OME lift, 265 Truxxus's, Detroit in the rear with Rovertracks axles.
What I am thinking is this;
3" RTE springs $295
Castor corrected arms $250
RTE rear links $300
RTE a arm...
Anyone use the Daystar offroad lights? I am thinking of buying some for my roof rack.
I would not be using them very often, maybe a half dozen times a year. But I would like to have them, plus they look cool mounted on the rack
I need to contact him, but his email account is full and he does not seem to be responding to my PM's. I know his name is Isaac Fain, but the contact info I have is limited.
Any help would be appreciated.
I figured that today was as good a day as any to build some spring retainers for the rear of my 99 D1. I cut off the welded in cones and preped the spring bucket with some fancy Rust-o-leum paint.:D
I used 3/16 thick 2" wide steel cut just slightly longer than the diameter of the spring...
Ok, maybe a Disco isnt the right rig for this stuff, but it is what I have. :)
I want to set up my suspension for mild to medium crawling, and some 40-50 mph prerunning, and some light dune duty. I have OME HD springs right now,, and some POS temporary shocks.
What would you think the ideal...
A co-worker's wife rolled their Discovery 5 times after going off the freeway into a ditch dug for a new rail line that is being put in. She was attempting to miss an object that was in her lane and lost control of the vehicle. She suffered only minor injuries and is ok. The Disco is another...
Well, I just completed the headgasket replacement on my 99 D1 and I thought I would give some thoughts on my experiences with this job.
First off I would say find a CLEAN work bench to use during the replacement. Second, I had great success with using a Snap-On breaker bar and 1/2 wobbly...
Pretty funny, some guys film themselves acting tough, watch what happens. If you are at work I recommend headphones, lots of cussing
