Excelent choices on the first three. Old U2 is the only way to go. Have you heard their new song "Vertigo" I cant stand it. But it is still better than aerosmiths Honkin on Bobo album, i dont know what they were thinking.

Hmmmm, camping music.

My tastes range from Portishead (English industrial-jazzy-James Bond type music) to Johnny Cash, Miles Davis, David Allan Coe, and Pink Floyd. And I am always up for something new.

I agree with the Rupp Bros. I don't enjoy listening to music in the field, prefering to enjoy the outdoor experience without the extra sound of music. But I do enjoy listening to the following while at the shop (like now):

Billie Holiday
Ella Fitzgerald
Louis Armstrong
Lee Wiley
Benny Goodman
Bobby Short
Judy Garland
Nat King Cole
Luciano Pavarotti

I'm feelin the Jimmy Buffett and John Denver
They are two of my personal favorites. Louie's What A Wonderfull World is an all time classic too. As far as the heavy metal stuff I just don't get it. It might be because my hearing is so jacked up I can't understand the words. The quote from Christmas Vacation applies to me: " I couldn't hear a freight train in a nitro glycerine factory"

I still say that Miles Davis is better on Saturday night rather than Sunday morning.

Basically, anything you can sit and nod your head to, with a couple frenzied harmonica/piano/guitar solos that last forever. But ideally the music stops around 8pm or so, and the sounds of coyotes, the creek, the fire, and the wind in trees is music enough. Plus drunken conversations with my buddies. :D

WOW! Matt

that's some pretty angry music to listen to whilst chillin' by the camp fire tellin' lies to your buddies.
do you need a hug?

Did Art Bell come out of retirement again. i thought someone else took over "coast to coast". greg something or other, man that brings back nasty graveyard shift memories.

george noory now does coast to coast. although, art is still around! yup used to listen to that driving home from work...sometimes really good but mostly crack heads babbling about stoopid crap!

as far as camping music:
floyd
cash
dave matthews
eddie spaghetti (super suckers singer who redoes old country songs..great stuff! definate download if you have not heard)
bluegrass
and my favorite...the crickets, frogs, owls, loons etc...
