All they need to do is get some product placement in a rap video and they won't be able to keep them in the dealer! Worked for Aston Martin and the Range Rover.

Great. Thats what the Defender's image needs, to be publicly humiliated by having having big ol' "bling bling" rims slapped on them. :banghead:

Or, godfobid, having the 'gangsta rappers' and such discover that the Defenders are good off-road vehicles and seein' all of them out in the trails. :ack:

We've seen this before - the '95 RR Classic with the Discovery dash.

Which actually I prefer, as not many aftermarket radios fit in/like the short, 45 deg sloped mounting of the pre-95's

Under $45k for a crew cab diesel powered (WVO/SVO/EVOO compatible), and I'll be there with my g35 as a trade in. :D

FYI . . . . .

GM announces revised Duramax 6.6L and new light-duty diesel

. . . . . The company announced that a new, light-duty V8 turbo-diesel will be available after 2009. The dual-overhead cam, four-valve V8 will fit in the same space as a small-block V8, meet even more stringent 2010 emissions standards and be 50-state legal. GM states explicitly the engine is for pickup trucks under 8,600 lbs. gross vehicle weight, which means the new diesel engine will find a home in GM's half-ton pickups and probably its GMT900 full-size SUVs.

I look at it like this, it's inevitable that vehicles are going to get updated, but I'd say the updates to the new defender, from the pics atleast, are about as tasteful as you're going to get without ruining it. I like it, and would be interested in buying one if it was ever sold here, affordably.

With all the turmoil at Ford and it's Way Forward program I doubt we see the Defender stateside. This morning Robert Rubin resigned from Fords Board of Directors to remove any perspection of conflict of interest. This indicates some major financial changes at Ford.

Bloomberg said they are shopping Jaguar AND Land Rover.

Too much uncertainty now. Ford needs to get this done ASAP.

Let's all pool our resources and offer to buy Land Rover from Ford. I have about ?13 million sitting in my "new 22 inch rims" fund that I could put towards this instead...
