Donation sent. Maybe someone can check out the new vehicle to assure it is going to be mechanically sound as a donation?

Just a thought, what year is the van? Is it in good shape beside the motor? I know some of you had mentioned fixing the motor that was in it but on some of these domestic cars we should be able to get a decent low miles motor for between 400 and 700 dollars on the junk yard interchange. If you local guys could put it in for them it could be done cheaply. I think it would be safer to have known good used motor with a warranty than to be going through a blown up motor you aren't terribly familiar with. If you get me their van info and zip I will see if there are any motors close. I am not trying to push the issue one way or the other, just an option.

Marty, that's a great idea - and I'll definitely pitch in, but have never done a motor swap before, and don't have a hoist... So I definitely can't be on point, but I'll do what I can to help, for sure.

I think it's an 00 or 01 chrysler V6, but could be wrong. Zip is 22942. I'm working so it might be this evening before I can confirm

Now also being rotated on Facebook Via Status until a Page is made.

Thanks! We are working on getting the FB page!

Nicholas has just been addmitted to the UVA hospital. I'll update after I go see him after work. Total of donations is over $1800! His dad sounded like he was in tears when I told him a little while ago.

current total is close to $2000.

Nicholas is in UVA Hospital with pneumonia. We went to see him tonight and spent a long time talking to his parents. They have seen the paypal donations and are over whelmed by the generosity. They are trying to think of a way to say thankyou to everyone. I will try and figure out if the best thing is to fix the van or replace when I talk to them tomorrow. If replacement is the best route then I might try and expand a little more and speak to a local car dealer. Other wise I think repair sounds like the best idea and I think there are numerous people that are more than capable of helping out. There is going to be a raffle for a very nice hunting rifle soon. I would have had that done tonight, but I have had too much going on to figure out the details yet.

Here is a pic taken tonight. He is trying his best smile. No matter how bad he hurts he always gets a smile out for the camera.
