When should I start looking for the 07s? I've been looking for an LR3 HSE for a couple weeks and I'm starting to worry it ain't gonna happen the way prices are going.

There was a big rush of off-lease late summer/early fall...so wait till then.

Thanks Bhos.

OK. So I think I?ve found an 06 LR3 HSE. It has just over 26k miles. The tires are shot but that offers a decent bargaining point plus I can put on what I want. Carfax looks pretty good, no accidents and such.
What I don?t know is exactly what option packages it has. I can see the front parking sensors, the cooler box, and second row heated seats. There may be some other obvious ones I?m missing but can anyone decode the VIN? SALAG25436A389851
Thanks for the help!

show us the photo link. most hse's basically came with the lighting and nav, heated seats and parking sensors were pretty much std as was third row and therfor 3rd row ac compressor and lines going to it.

with the only thing less common being the "Heavy Duty" pkg which was three items as far as I know: locking rear diff (not user on demand but like the center with computer deciding things of course), full size matching spare, in 19" because hse's came with 19" wheels, and I think the towing block which on it's own costs about $300!

The dealer site doesn't have many good pics.

good enough if you know what to look for- that one is loaded with everything and might even have the HD pkg (rear locking diff) as it does appear to have the full size spare - the doughnut spare is narrow, and does not hang down that far underneath, in fact from that angle I doubt you would even be able to see the doughnut version at all.

However, people sometimes buy a matching full size spare so it's not an automatic HD by photo.

Somewhere on this forum, a long time ago, was a photo or a description of what to look for if you slide under to see the rear diff up close. The only other way is to start engine, shift into low, maybe engage a rock crawl mode, to see if the rear is "lit" up at all - when it's not there it doesn't light up either the on or off colors.

what;'s the price on this one? 26k miles is low though so that's good. if rover dealer then it'll be cpo which gets you 6yr/75k total miles and time from in service date (date bought by 1st person when warranty time started) I feel like I haven't even used mine and it has almost 30k miles and is an 07.

So, what's their price?

Looks near identical to my truck. If it has the cooler box and heated seats it should have the Luxury Package, which is the two things listed, plus the heated windshield, and the adaptive headlights. All HSE's in 06 were 7 passengers, so if it really has the HD package then it has all factory options.

Unfortunately no CPO, it's a local used car lot that I've been pushing to find a good one at auction. He's got it listed for $28k. He's saying he'll put tires and brakes on if needed. They are needed; I found a plug just off the tread on the sidewall.

He also has a green HSE w/ 36k and a blue SE 5-seater with 30k. He sold a black on black HSE last week a couple days after getting it in. ALL 06s. The green and this black one came from auction in Tenn last week. The black one he sold last week came from Dallas auction.

Sounds like it could have everything. I do remember playing with the 4x4 info screen and seeing a grayed out box in the rear diff area on the one I looked at last week. He's sending it down to Aristocrat LR in Kansas City for service tomorrow, so I'll have to wait for another look at the belly.

Thanks for all the help.

i remember looking at 05 LR3's in December 2008 w/ 30-40k miles for under $20,000 at small luxury car lots. They kept telling me that the prices will go up soon...and they were right.

they always have a good selection.
