hard to find a certified HSE though.

nice trucks, no HSE's though.

.

Remember that in 05 the HSE's were impossible to find new. Land Rover screwed up their projections WRT the SE/HSE build mix. HSE's were MSRP sales until mid/late summer in most of the country as their were so few of them. (Not saying it makes them more valuable now, just pointing out why they are harder to find)

I've decided to give up.

The truck they now have sitting on their lot is an 05 HSE7 with 44K on it, they are asking $28,900. It doesn't even have the Land Rover Certified warranty, they said it has some other extended warranty that's cheaper to purchase, which makes perfect sense since the truck is $8,000 more than the one they sold 2 months ago....

In September clean black book on an 05 se v8 was 16k. In the newest books it is now 17,5k. This is super odd and does not happen often but LR3's have gone up in value significantly. You can't even buy a nice one with right miles and options without paying out of the book either.

Silver, I'm told that Land Rover Southpointe might be able to help you out. Contact Todd Landvik. He can be reached at (941) 308-5141. Let him know that Jason Michaels from LRL Magazine referred (as Jason contacted me to tell you). Please post your results!

2006 LR3 V8 SE 5 passenger Bonatti Grey with black interior. It has Cold Climate, Lighting, rear pdc, Navigation and satellite radio with 43k miles. Sold here new traded in here from first owner all service history. The truck is Certified and we are asking 26900 but i think i listed it in the for sale section a while ago for 24900 from what ive seen that doesn't seem too bad.

Sounds good. I'll have to give him a call next week. I'll let you know what happens.

LR3's have been going up significantly, even in the last few weeks. 06's with miles in the 20's are bringing mid 20's at the auctions now. Wierdest damn thing I've seen in a while.

09 LR3's are being produced in low volume. That is causing the prices to rise. Search and you will find a good deal. Contact Woody @ Land Rover Asheville 828-891-7493 he is a straight shooter and will help find what you are looking for.

I agree with the observation, having searched for one for the past 2 months and finally committed to buying one.

A 2006 V8 SE7. It has all the packages except the Heavy Duty (no rear locks), Towing and Wood. The Nav is awesome, and the telephone integration with cradle really nice.

The car was babied by a one owner who is a car nut. It has 27K miles, and ended up costing me 24 grand. I think I overpaid by 500 dollars, but the color (java black) and the fact that this is a one owner convinced me to go for it. I love it, obviously!

Cheers.

Jon, where did you find this info? I got the feeling that LR was not too nimble at reining in production, but that was just a feeling.

I saw my first two 09s while out here in LA. I haven't seen any in the DC area. Lots still have quite a few 08s and the next 'best time to buy' will probably be when the 07s come off lease. The number of 06s that came off lease was crazy.

Silver: how much did you end up paying?

I'm in the market but the prices seem to be way out of line. My expectation would be 23-25k for a nice hse, and slightly less for an SE in decent config, but I am finding 26k-27k for SEs after trying to negotiate.

I paid 24 for an 06 HSE7, it has everything but the HD package. It has 40K on it, and was a local car, all service history, new brake pads, no paint work, etc. It was a trade, not an auction truck so I think that's why it was such a good deal. They have an 05 HSE7 on their lot now for 28 with the same mileage.

When should I start looking for the 07s? I've been looking for an LR3 HSE for a couple weeks and I'm starting to worry it ain't gonna happen the way prices are going.

It is really screwy out there right now. Prices on CPOed LR3s are increasing, and 2006 CPOed RRS and FFRR's seem to be listed at the same price as they were a year ago. My local dealer's eight left over 2008 LR3's mysteriously dissappeared from their online inventory, along with their 2008 RRS's and FFRR's. Where did they go? They have one 2009 LR3, one 2009 FFRR, and about 20 RRS's.

I was set to buy CPO something LR, but the state of things put me off. So when the LR3 goes back in July (lease), our FFRR will have to do until there is more "predictability" in the market again. I cannot help thinking that CPO prices will adopt a predictable steady depreciation at some point in the near future.(?)

The whole thing is in Seattle right now - doubtful I would drive it back adding another 3200 miles anytime soon. I suppose if I did, then I'd be keeping it, and the bumper of course.

Also, if parting out sometime, then I also have to get the stock parts from NC so who knows. Until then, selling as whole unit is best plan.
