Hey there fella's. Yes I did close the thread. I did so because tempers were starting to get out of hand and I will admit mainly by a couple of guys that were my members.

Don't think that you cannot participate on the board at all, I just felt it was time that thread be closed to let cooler heads prevail.

Mighty your pics look good man, but don't let anyone tell you that a Ramp Score is more important then how your junk works on the trail.

By the way, the link you posted on my board forces you to sign in on here to see it. Might want to link the pics directly to our board if you want others to see it.
am I still banned?

My biggest problem w/Jeeps is that everybody and his grandmother has one! I like being different, that's why I wear thong underwear!

DAMN you all. Now I'm going to have to throw away all of my cut off jean shorts and sleeveless tees, stop smoking and carry organic cheese.

Somebody should have told me this before I chose to buy a disco.

Well its over, they deleletd the thread. Great though, I met some cool dudes over there, so hopefully we can meet in moab and wheel it up. Last night I went down to Land Rover Centerville to get a ramp score because one of the cherokee ownsers said flex wasnt shit wihtout a ramp score, and he said his buddy ramps 1400, so I went down and had the LR tech measure me up. HERE are the results, and pics.

* also I was unretained, when im not showing off flex, and im wheling, I retain them. this also was with only 11 inch foxs in the rear, I used to run a 14 inch rancho that would drop the spring out of the retainer, on this ramp it didnt even in perch, so if I had those other shocks I could have been on the top.*

So what was your score?

And LR dealer has a RTI ramp? My local one has the off-road track, but that's only for newcar demos.

it's not the vehicles that bother me........it's the people that bother me.

every two weeks or so i am off roading and every two weeks i see a bunch of ignorant Jeep owners trashing the trails. beer cans, cutting down trees, etc. it's very much common place with them. maybe its just a VA thing, but i doubt it.

i am always impressed with Rover owners with the most part. especially when you consider MAR has 500 trucks with 1000 or so people and very little trash (if any) left behind.

Its because we are proper off roaders.

Yeah they had a ramp, Its the same one I towed down to the National rally in Moab.

Well im not really sure now, Ive heard like 400 ways to measure it, My front tire was 48 inches off the ground, the wheel base is 100 inches, so after all that, according to a few different calculators, at first my measurments were wrong because I thgouh you measures from the middle of the wheel, now I got it straightened out, I htink.. HAH

this is from 4lo.com

Ramp Travel Index (RTI) enter both in blue and press CALC
Simulates a 20 degree ramp
Inches tire above ground: 48 Wheelbase inches: 100

RTI Score: 1403 Inches up 20º ramp: ''

that has to be one of the more ignorant things i've seen posted in a while. unless you've met with, wheeled with, and spent considerable time with a large cross section of the Jeep owning population; making a a statement on what is or isn't "common knowledge" is just asinine. i've owned a Jeep and been around Jeepers for over a decade. i can tell you that while online forums may not represent the overall ownership and stereotypes exist for a reason, your statement isn't at all accurate. i still have my Jeep, and i've owned a Rover. i've met good people and bad apples in both arenas.

Closer to 3 decades here. I have met far, far more disrespectful (morons) in other vehicles than Rovers that is for sure. I would think the majority just happened to be in jeeps. But hey I'm not a moron and drove a jeep for a long time. Its not all Jeepers, but the rotten eggs give all of them a bad name, and there are a lot of rotten eggs out there thrashing about in Jeeps.

I have also met my fair share of prima donna Landrover owners, many of them yuppie. Who the hell else buys brand new D1, D2, LR3, RR, etc... the demographic is definitely not blue-collar.

Now with that said. Aside from a very small handful of Landrover owners out there that I enjoy running trails with, my favorite trail buddies are Jeepers and have as much or more respect for the trail as any Landrover owner and without the pretentiousness of many Rover owners.

Antichrist took the quote I was going to use, but if I remember correctly, you're only a about year or two behind me and I still have a full head o' hair. :p

Probably, they'll all fall out on the pillow tonight for saying that though.

I still want a copy of that Moab vid.

where i'm at right now, duh...
The whole reason I don't go wheeling with anyone in town is simply because of the comments and attitudes I've received.

I went out to the moon rocks near Reno for some fun and exploring one day by myself. I parked my truck for a bit and some guys were crawling on the rocks with a yota and suzuki. All the guys started laughing at me and making comments like "how many more payments you have on that POS?" Why don't you bring it up here and try it out."

fucking dickheads should learn to shut there mouths. That's what pisses me off so much. I'm just out to have fun and since i own a rover that makes me a little prick? Almost ALL of the Jeep owners I see or come across are rude to me just like those fucks.

I drove down to the Hilton one day for an outdoor 4x4 show and I got the same reactions.
I drove by a group of jeeps and waved at them in a friendly way and all of the guys (they were all older) just gave me a dirty look and turned away. What the hell is that all about? It's like i've got a sticker on my rover that says "I'm an asshole"

It's no different than all the kids in highschool who hated me because they thought my 97 D1 cost $80,000. Yes, they thought my D1 was an 80K range rover, so they hated me for it.... these were kids who didn't know me, so they just "assumed" i was a rich little prick
