I agree, that you definitely see more trail trash coming from jeeps and other US vehicles. However you got to think how many of them you see on the trails compared to rovers. For every rover I see on the trails, I probably see more than 1000 jeeps.

It is rare that organized events have this happen as most of us are very conscientious.

Oh and welcome to WF :D .

Hey fella's, how's it going over here. Just thought I'd come share some board love with you all too. Gotta see some more of these Rovers wheelin. Actually it's good to finally see some with Trail pics that aren't in the desert of Africa somewhere. We have some of the sickest rocks on earth to wheel on here in AZ and I can honestly say I've never seen a built Rover tackle any of them.

Oh, and I'm an Admin over on the jeep board. :D

i see your point Chuck, but i'm not sure it is valid or excusable. MAR is our "Big Dogs" event on the east and we manage about 400-500 trucks and 1000+ people. we drink, we eat like pigs and have a damn good time, but what you won't see is beer cans tossed all along the trails. maybe it's because we are cheese and dip eating wankers or whatever.
and i am not going as far to say we are "better" or are a different class of folks. that's beside the point and having disrespect should not discriminate between "classes" of people.
from what i have seen it is generally accepted to act as they do. an overall mentality that seems to get passed down along the line.
we've all have bad eggs within ou groups and i am sure that Jeep has more simply because of those numbers.

Thanks for the welcome. I think I'm a member of prolly close to a hundred off-road oriented boards....

Half of them started from cross-board posts like this one. Don't be surprised if the entire thread gets deleted on WF. It's a fairly civil place with none of the typical flame fests found on JU or pirate.

BTW, I wheel with anyone who's equipped to handle the trails I'm on and doesn't spend half the day broke down. I think I've been on trail runs with pretty much everything but a hummer (who wants to be seen with one of those? :D).

I'm not validating it in the least. As far as I am concerned it is inexcusable to trash the trails we run. I just think you see it more often because of the popularity of the more commonly available/affordable vehicles. The ratio of jeep owners to jeepers is probably the same as rover owners vs rover wheelers. The weekend partiers on the trails appear to me to be the ones responsible. You don't see many real off road enthusiasts behaving in that manner.

As far as drinking on the trails, as you might be able to infer from my avatar, I am an avid beer drinker and homebrewer. I generally bring beer with me to the trails, but a cap or keg rarely gets popped before we are at trails end. If I see someone drink on a trail run I won't wheel with them again - I hate cleaning up bloody messes.

certainly nothing wrong with copios amounts of fine beverage. whether they are single malts, ESBs or a jar full or cherries floating in vodka..........they all get my vote.

From WF
haha, you jeep guys are all alike. Someone post something different and you can't stop rubbing your peters together to see how bad ass that disco really is.

I would guess it's because your post was just rude - nothing remotely constructive about it. To register on a board with your first post nothing but a flame - on WF I'd have banned you too. The powers that be don't take kindly to that there.

yea i guess it was kinda rude, i'm not in the best mood today, however, i was kinda serious. I know for a fact most jeepers are on the same wagon, and most on that board were making fun of the disco, just standing our disco ground, also, that disco is really bad ass, and no one realized that, they just saw a disco with more than normal flex and thought omg I can find a jeep pic somewhere with more flex....

It is a nice disco, but handz should have found a better pic. With 14/12 co's and 3-links I know it will flex better than that...

my apologies: I misread. I was not berating your rover, just that if he was going to start a pissing match, he should have gotten a better pic of it. We all know that someone is always going to post something bigger in a thread like that, it's just a matter of how much searching you make them do ;).

Since it was your very first post on the board my moderator felt it was not appropriate at that time. I fully agree with him and supported the ban. I understand the give and take will happen, but don't make it your first post.

It's all good.

And by the way I didn't go lookin for a pic to post. The rig with coilovers I posted is a friend of mine and was a run we were on a couple weeks ago.

You all definitely seem to have worked over your Rovers quite well and from seeing some of the pics today you definitely made at least one jeeper realize that Disco's can make a better trail rig than I once thought. :D
