$400 delivered? Ok, forget my comment above about being cheaper than TW....

Googled "Durango drive shaft" and Rock Auto shows a 98, 00, 02 driveshafts for $248 (+$54 core). The '98 (A-1 CARDONE Part # 659707 {[Driveshaft/Prop Shaft Assembly]}Front) looks close to a disco shaft. Can't imagine shipping is $100 - $150?

What year Durango is that shaft you guys got in LI?

Shipping to/from Canada seems to spike.

For someone stateside, I can tell you shipping would be zero. If Rockauto has it for $248 then Advance Auto's web site will match the price and give free shipping (last time I ordered any order over $50 was free shipping). Plus you can probably return the core locally (I'd doubt they'd notice it's a DII propshaft vs a Durango).

The u-joints say Spicer on them, so I can only assume that's what they are. Don't know why the nipples aren't 'on the ends'.
AFAIK Spicers are generally in the root of the u-joint. Some Neapco's are on the end cap.

WOW.

I paid 225.00 and still have my original.
I told them they may get calls.

Supply and demand .
Demand goes up
Price goes up.

p.S. mines a bit different.

My Cardon frame is bigger , i removed the original with thinwall socket and extension.
There was no room for the same socket on the new cardon frame i had to use
wrenches only for installation.

I just called and he quoted me $295 He is getting a little cocky I will get one locally and have my guy here rebuild it for that price

I just spoke with a guy at Buds here in Lancaster he said if I bring him in the old shaft he will custom build the shaft with whatever ujoints at whatever length etc I wanted for $350-400 FYI I would suppose any local D/S shop could do the same I'm thinking for my Toy conversion I could use like 1350's and a couple of extra inches of length

I suposed and supposed wrong.

The first shop i went to could not rebuild and balace even though i knew it could be done.

I dont suppose evry shop is capable of balancing a rover shaft but im not sure.

reviving a old thread here but does anyone know if this would work in a RRC? or would it have to wait until I do a lt230 swap?

I was just doing a little research on this. Rockauto.com's site list the 1998 and 1999 front shaft as part # 659707 (for all engines). MY 2000 lists part # 659150. MY 2001 and 2002 list part # 659151. All 3 of these parts are $253.79 + core.

Maybe these different part #'s are the reason Jim says his shaft looked different from the guy in NY/CA - maybe they got different part # shafts which are similar.

I had my front driveshaft replaced by dealership under warranty at about 53,000. However i now have a little vibration back. While visually inspecting my joints and everything it all looked good, One thing i noticed though was that the shaft had a decent amount of play if i turned it by hand while in park. Is this something to be concerned about or normal. The new shaft and U's only have about 4,000 miles on them.

Links to advance auto/parts america pages:

659707

659150

659151

More expensive at advance/parts america ($265.99) than rockauto ($253.79) but Tom was said they should match the price.

Now, we just need someone to tell us the difference between the 3 part numbers.

Wouldn't be 659151 as that appears to have a rotoflex type joint.
The Cardone illustration for the other two don't have flanges on them, so no idea.
