Considering I just incorporated my own business and have not yet opened up shop, no the people (me) paying my bills dont have a DB rating.

That's why I stopped going wheeling with clubs and organized events, too many flammers. As far as drinking one or two drinks and wheeling and saying it is dangerours give me a fucking break.

I'm sorry I missed the orignal thread, sounds like

sounds like popcorn?

haha

i might not go to RR08 not because of the bitching about alcohol, but simply because i don't want to have the "high and mighty" rover folks look at my truck and bitch about ANYTHING that looks wrong or bad. I don't have any ghetto mods... so i might be safe?

Don't let other people's opinions sway you from going. I could really care less what someone thinks. It's my truck. Besides, by then you'll be part of the NCLR and you'll probably caravan down with us.

haha! I've always modified my truck properly and with the best taste in mind, but i never thought i would be judged by what my truck looks like at an event. After reading about RR07 on here, it makes me second guess as to whether or not i want to partake in any future rover events. i want to wheel and make new friends, not put up with high school like drama.

which is sad if you ask me...

i agree peter, but sometimes it just seems better to avoid the whole situation all together , you know?

I've never been out wheeling with more than two other rovers, and i would love to go to an event someday, but this type of stuff puts a bad taste in my mouth before i've even tried it.

ditto that. MAR and other east coast events might have some issues here and there with good old boys, booze and Barney Fife, but i'll take that any day over the fucktards that attempt to get high and mighty and wheeled the "your Rover is not worthy" sword.
those jackasses should stick to their fraternity alumni reunions in a futile attempt to play the high society game of my cheese cost more than your cheese.
maybe they need to start a new BBS for those cheese dicks that take pics of their watches.
very lame.

XD, I wouldn't worry about it. There are mabye 10 people who attend RR who mite give you crap about something on your truck, the other 90 are pretty laid back people, but they won't call you out unless your truck is on par with some of these http://128.83.80.200/taco/scarysteering.html

It really is just a few assorted people causing all the trouble, the rest of us Westcoasters are a pretty laid back bunch. Hell I'm thinking about going out to MAR to see what that's all about.

It's a TRUCK, not a vintage Ferarri! Who the heel cares what a man's truck looks like!? You build them for fun NOT for Pebble Beach!

X2 for the seperate "Look at my watch and Filson Luggage Collection" board. That shit cracks me up! All the beautiful scenery, all the bad ass trucks and friends and I always see somebody's Rolex, his luggage and some gourmet cheese!
