Hood Latch Pin Will Not Release

I have searched, but cannot find anything like this ever happening. It is a 1989 Range Rover. First off the hood release cable is fine and in one piece at the moment. My hood decided it would not stay down, I looked at it, and the pin that is bolted to the hood had come unscrewed and was...

    Breaking an '88 Range Rover

The Range Rover is fairly complete, and I am going to start taking it apart tomorrow. Here is what's NOT going to be sold: Alternator, front/rear glass, transfer case, transmission, front drive shaft, and a few interior parts. Everything is up for grabs, including the engine, which has 177K...

    Spring Break to New York

So a few of us are going up to the City for a few days during Spring break. Any advice on Hostels to stay in? Right now we are looking at Hostel International New York and Chelsea International Hostel. None of us have ever stayed in a hostel so any advice on that would be cool too! Will

ARB from '95 RRC to '89 RRC

I am wanting to know if it is possible to fit an ARB that was on a '95 to an '89. I know that the '95's have airbags, and the factory brushguards mount differently. Thanks! Will

    '89 RRC rough idle

Ok, so here's the deal: - In neutral with my foot on the brake the vehicle idles at a perfect 500RPM. - In drive with my foot on the brake the vehicle searches for idle between 150RPM and 400RPM. - At a stop light, it feels almost like it is going to stall out. - Why would it be doing this in...

Will a '90 ECU work in an '89?

Will a '90 ECU work in an '89? I have heard some stuff mentioned about the A/C not working, but other than that, any other issues? I am having diagnostic display envy :) Will

Freelander CD player to 2001 D2

Just curious if a Freelander CD player will work in a 2001 D2? I know some D2a's came with it, but I just wanted to make sure everything will plug up correctly, and that the steering wheel controls will still work. Thanks, Will

Changing a CV joint in an '89

I just read the procedure on how to change out the CV on a '96 Discovery, which is posted in the big tech thread. Any other big differences? I know the stub axle set up is a little different. I have the factory manual, but it is a touch confusing. Thanks, Will

I need somebody to work with me!!!

I need some one to work with me at Raven Knob Boy Scout Camp with our off-road driving program. We are located in Mount Airy, NC, fairly close to Winston-Salem. I had a guy working with me, but Uncle Sam has called him to duty, so I am in trouble. Basically I need someone that is 18 or older...

    Gas tank drain bolt...

So I get my gas tank boiled out and coated for my SIII 109, and I get it picked up by my girlfriend. After lots of cussing and a few busted knuckles I finally get it back in. Once it was in I realized the guys did not put in the drain plug. So, they are closed today, and I really want to get...

Clicking on an 89 Range Rover

I have a pronounced clicking noise that seems to be coming from a drivetrain component on my Rover. At first the clicking was not consistant, and was quite variable, and it would only make the noise when making very slow sharp left hand turns. Out of speculation I did purchase a new CV joint...

    R-12 To R-134a

I have an '89 Classic. I was looking at Advance Auto, and they have kits for $35 do do the conversion. Basically it cleans all the old R-12 out and then it says you are good to put in R-134a. Will this work? Any ideas? Thanks, Will Bobbitt

    Rough Running When Wet

I have an '89 Classic, and when it rains, or is moist outside it can be rough running. Sometimes it will die out unless I rev it up for a few minutes. I am thinking it is a crack in the distributor cap. what do you all think? Any ideas? Thanks a Bunch, Will Bobbitt

    Sunroof Problems

My '89 Range Rover's Sun roof won't open any more. It worked great, and then I took the headliner out. I put it back in and now it won't work. While it was out, I put the switch in the socket, and it did work. But now after putting the headliner back in, it will not do anything. I think I...
