I have searched, but cannot find anything like this ever happening. It is a 1989 Range Rover.
First off the hood release cable is fine and in one piece at the moment.
My hood decided it would not stay down, I looked at it, and the pin that is bolted to the hood had come unscrewed and was clamped in the latch. I got the pin out, and re-attached it to the hood, and after a few adjustments I got the hood to stay latched. Good right? It was until I tried to open the hood. The cable operates just fine, and I can see the latch mechanism moving when the cable is being pulled. I have tried pulling up on the hood while a friend is pulling the hood release, but to no avail.
Any ideas before I dig in and start pulling things apart?
