Would domestic car manufacturer troubles possibly open the door for the Defender?

Well fuck me, we're playing the less children is more game! Knewsome, you fail. You have a kid. If you were serious about overpopulation you would have had you and your wife sterilized and ended your lineage while encouraging everyone else around you to do the same.

Put up or shut up.

Killing people is unconscionable and illegal. Why do you think that to be serious about overpopulation you have to break the law? Are you the type of person who if they had a gun, couldn't resist the temptation to use it on random strangers? That's sick. You should get some help for that.

I would never suggest someone do something I was not willing to or already had done. You cannot play a game of brinksmanship with me on overpopulation and commitment to the problem without getting into an ethical and probably legal gray area.

I call shenanigans, sirrah!

p.s. lrn2pnctuate, kthx!

Forums need to have a "sarcasm" tag.

As I stated previously, overpopulation is A reason I'm staying with one kid. I'm not so utterly terrified of it that I'm having NONE. I believe it IS ok for people to have children, they should just keep it to a minimum.

Nothing wrong with a little middle-ground.

I thought you were trying to have an adult conversation about the subject. I suppose the use of sarcasm in adult conversations is acceptable in the circles you run in. You can stand there and insist you are on the high road, practicing the "middle" way, but how can anyone take you serious when you refuse to reciprocate?

WRT the Defender. I wouldn't be surprised if we hear sometime down the road, once the patents Chevron is holding on LIon batteries expires, that LR whips out that electric axle that has been shelved. I'm in agreement that the new Defender won't be of the same lineage as the series/old Defender, but chock full of circuity goodness. yay.

PEANUT-BUTTER JELLY WITH A BASEBALL BAT!

*ahem* sorry about that.

Rolo, adults use sarcasm all the time - there's a big difference between using sarcasm to point out the irony of your opponent's position and silly comments like "put down the bong", which illustrate no such irony. Now, were I a stoner, perhaps they would.

As for reciprocation, I stated my position clearly - that two people making one person is better than two people making more than one. Not as good as two making ZERO, but hey, we all have biological needs, which I am not above admitting. If you think this somehow makes me a hypocrite, fine. I'm a parent, therefore I have a free pass on hypocrisy. ;) there I go with the sarcasm tag again.

I totally want to see what sort of electric technology LR has up their sleeve. Whatever the new generation of Defender is, I hope it uses well-implemented technology.

I don't think you understand. There is nothing ironic about my position on procreation. My position is clear, yours however, appears to be merely one gradation of a spectrum of child-rearing and you try to justify that while vilifying someone else's position on that spectrum. I'm not on that chart since you can't have less than 1.0 kid.

You sarcastically strawman your way out of every question asked of you and vehemently argue that anyone who doesn't believe exactly as you do is wrong and thus worthy of scorn. I argue that if you try to hold yourself as a better example than someone else, be prepared to be knocked off your podium. There is always someone out there with a bigger dick than you, be humble.

I'd bet that we have more in common than you might think, but that also holds true for every other person posting in this thread too, you just choose to be combative. Play nice or the gimp will come out from under the stairs.

Rolo, my intent was not to vilify your position, and viewed in a vacuum, your position certainly is NOT ironic. Viewed in the context of this thread, from my perspective, having just had to defend my position from people on one end, I found myself essentially having to defend it from the other, which seemed ironic to me, hence my sarcasm.

I personally can't hold myself to the standard you have chosen - to not procreate at all, and I will certainly not expect anyone else to do what I cannot. I certainly respect your position, and your decision... the example I am attempting to live is merely to show that one doesn't necessarily have to forego the option altogether - you can have kids, and still reduce population growth. Or "kid", rather, heh.

I'm certain we all do have more in common than it on the surface appears, and I know sometimes I can be coarse, if not somewhat insulting. Obviously none of my barbs are intended to be taken deeply and personally - to me, this is all in good fun, and could only be better if we were all sharing a case of beer around a campfire. :) (though invariably, we'd probably end up harping on the dude who brought the natty-ice, and he'd call me a snob for bringing Newcastle or Fullerton's on a camping trip, but I digress)

The people on this site, though often even MORE abrasive than me, all seem to be good people, and I have THOUROGHLY enjoyed the many engaging and at times juvenile discussions I've partaken in, and I look forward to more. Good times.
