I bought this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=190338113751 to run as an in-cab control for my warn xd9000. The question I have is how did those of you who have done this wire the arrow switches for spooling in and out? I have a 5 wire remote.

The arrow switches (X210,X211 in rave) are basically glorified SPST with some lights in them. I was hoping I could just run 12v from the battery (fused of course) to pin 5 on each then wire pin 4 on one to the green "in" wire on the warn and pin 4 on the other switch to the black "out" wire on the warn.

The thing I cant figure out is what to do with the brown ground wire on the winch since it's switched too in the 5 wire remotes. The schematic shows a DPDT but the arrow keys are SPST. Any ideas how those of you with this set up wired it? Thanks -Rob

I'm thinking I can permanently ground the solenoids so that only the 12v is being used with the SPST switches to activate the in/out solenoids. Then it will be just like the older 3 wire remotes instead of the newer 5 wire where the ground is switched too. Any one done this?

How mant selonoids does the winch have?

if its 4 then you can ground the grounds if it is 2 then I would guess the switched grounds is to change the polarity.

On a side note, I can't imagine that using these dash-mounted buttons would be all that convenient compared to simply holding the original remote in your hand. I just can't picture holding my hand on the dash and steering at the same time. Sure, it look kind of neat, but why not just locate a socket in your cab to plug in the original remote?

Its actually a really slick mod and one I have been planning on doing in my disco.

I will still have a external plug on my hydro as well.

Alot of times I am alone and having a simple interior botton will be slick :D
