Funny how now you post that winch strength increases as you get line off the winch, but not in your original post...I just pulled 2 random pages to show the difference, and a 8k winch is strong enough for a Disco.

What are you talking about? Don't make a strawman. My first post was in regards to a cheap 10k winch at Costco, which seems it couldn't pull 10000lbs on the FIRST wrap. The amount of rope on the drum had nothing to do with the discussion. I'm just saying, make sure you know what you're getting with the Champion winches.

I bought the EP9 after a lot of research. One of the reasons, it pulls 6500lbs on the 5th wrap. It was the same price as a Warn M8000, $500. I can't even find the data on the LP8500. Also, the EP is twice as fast at 9000lbs as the LP8500 at 8500.
