because the LT230 always works unless something is really really really wrong. The BW is the same 4wd concept Subarus use, is that what you want keeping power going to the wheels of a 5000lb pig in the mud?

For me I have 150k on the BW and as far as I know it's the original vc in it. I'm thinking that when it goes it's just as cheap to slap a lt230 in and pick up the diff lock so why not.

Thanks for letting me know what bumper that is. It looks real good on the RRC.

Looking at it I'm guessing you had to cut the grill for the winch and move the trans cooler?

The chain in the BW is also prone to stretching and causing trouble. The LT230 is so readily availible and if you take the BW for a VC or chain job you might as well put in the LT230. A replacement VC was like 900 at Atlantic British when I checked. You probally could get an entire Disco drive train for that amount of money. I have a little more noise from the LT than the BW but I am getting into a Classic from a Defender. The only thing I have driven than is louder than a Defender is a FJ40, the noise isnt an issue for me. I also like moving levers must be the time spent around the drill rig.

Is this for a winch with an integrated solenoid?

It will work with either integrated or non. That will just change how much grill to cut and how far the cooler needs to move.

Since we are doing RRC love, picked this one over the summer for $1600.

It had a few issues but the body is clean of rust. Most of the bugs have been worked out but I too have an LT-230 to pop in very soon.

Bingo! Did you just cut the hard lines and use some hose and pressure fittings? Still haven't decided how i want to do it yet.

Nice truck!

I removed the stock cooler, mounted an aftermarket unit (B&M, I think) to one side out of the way, cut the hard lines and fabbed soft lines to the new cooler. Took a couple hours, not a bad job at all. It's been in nearly a year, no problems at all.

My first RR. Bought for $2000. I probably should have read forums and whatnot a little more before actually buying, but I fell in love and it ran great.

Still runs great, amazing what a constant supply of new oil does for her, but the previous owner was not nice to her and I don't think she's worth building up or restoring. I've had a lot of good times, and later this year I have several trips planned; 3 days in Antaham State Forest and 4 days or so in Gifford Pinchot, but in 9 months I move to chicago and the rover has to get sold. My best friend is going to buy it, and will probably use it for parts (or use his rover for parts and keep mine). And I'll begin looking for another RRC project car....

Time to post up picks of the recent work. Several of us from TN Rovers got together for a tech day Saturday. My ride left with new RTE Sliders, and a 2" RTE HD spring / OME HD shock lift.

Mechanically it's sound, but it has some rust and teh previous owner thrashed the interior. After we move to Chicago the wife's given me the go ahead on a new rig and I'd like to get either a disco or rrc that's actually been cared for.

The link to that website didn't work, but I'll do a google search and see if I can get a hold of someone there.
