when you finally finish aiming those led headlamps, I'll take you out to Citrus and help you bend something on that fine truck. Hope you don't mind pinstripes ...

I should have the Toy Rover txfr case bearings replaced next week and I'll be out at Citrus most weekends between now and Feb. so give me a call. I'll bring the jumper cables. :)

Sounds like a plan! Haha jumpers....:smilelol:

I love this. Sense this isn't a real question/comment im not going to answer in a real response. Im just going to take a jab at what you did when you came across my thread.

"My not so average RRC build.... 5 pages.... Eh... It's kinda long... Fuck it.... Gotta check this out but on the quick. Pics pics pics.... I hate this. Not a fan of that... Carbon fiber? Who does this guy think he is? Dom from fast and furious? Anyways.... Hum... a bunch of text. Ill just skip all of that. Ah here we go... Humvee tires? This guy is a fuck wod. Iv never owned a set of MTs on re-centered H1's but I damn sure know all about them. He's never going to replace those tires as this has to be a completed build and he didn't buy them for $200 to get it rolling. What an idiot! Ill be sure to tell him that later in my post. BTW TLS's RULE!!!! Damn... you know I love me some fashionable strippers. Ya gotta match on stage bitch! Wait.... Stripper attire and carbon fiber have a commonality. Let's roll with it... Ill be sure to reference the two in my post....blah blah blah more text. Ill skip that shit as well. Wait? Im too damn lazy to read about his suspension... He probably has Fabtech kit with 11" spacers. No flex ya tard! It's all about the flex!!!!! Flex=strippers! Are those what look to be stock axels!?!?!?! Oh man he's in for it now. That rig of his will surly explode because we all know I cant read and there are photos so this must be a completed build." and post.....:applause:

You're from Florida, home f flat bills and mud bloggers so I understand a little....

I did ask a question. What have you done regarding axles and suspension? It was in my first reply.

My second reply was to Mathew, and what I meant to say was carbon fiber is to range rover classic what flat billed hats is to range rover classics.

Your rant is actually comparable to one of my drunken replies! It made almost no sense what so ever and I've had some awesome drunken rants.

I'll give you this, yes classics are a dime to dozen compared to FJ80's. Figure an FJ80 still gets almost $10k vs a classic (which most people will just give you the fuckin tuck) so hack away.....just put as much effort into the drive line as you have the bling.

I assure you that it wasn't a rant. I was making fun of someone who stumbled upon a thread and decided to give their opinion without reading the thread first. Obviously you didn't catch that. You don't like strippers who cant dress themselves, flat bills, or carbon fiber. Get in line and move on... Thanks for giving me the go ahead to "hack away". On that note it looks like ill be bobing my RRC in the near future. I didnt know making all of your own bumper/armor, wheels, paint, carbon fiber, etc was bling. I guess I have a lot to learn.

This thread is typical of why I don't go on Dweb much. Long on drama, short on substance.

I like the RRC, just get on with building those axles already.....please.

I hear ya... It may be some time before I get hard core on some axles. I have a few options and im not 100% sold on what I want to do, so im not sure if I want to pull the trigger. Again its quite the project and im trying to keep my condo clean to sell. I will say Im most likely going to be doing a TDI swap in the very near future.

I would wheel it as is until you get your axle swap ready. Seat time on the trail is important in a new rig. You may not be able run in the KOH but as long as you don't drive like a moron and allow your ego/pride/brain to let you pull cable if you get bound up you should be fine.

Stock Rover axle parts are easy to find, swap and cheap to buy anyway.

Why a TDI though? You have decided you need less power?

This is too funny!! Who cares if you made all the parts or bought them.. The fact is you never even wheeled the thing!!!
I may buy everything and bolt it on, but Ill be damned if I dont use my truck for what I "built" it for!

His welding and fab is not bad. I don't agree with a lot of the design decisions and the choice of an RRC but this would have been nice had it been built on a RW tube chassis. ...and if he had started with axles, gears, and lockers.

I would do a few things differently, like the sequence of the parts added, and maybe the some color changes :D, but other than that its a great build! I agree with Shawn not going wheeling until the truck is fitted also, only stupid people do so and break their trucks, and the money they could've spent upgrading something is now for a mandatory repair and towing costs. When he does wheel it, it'll be more capable than all the shit talkers' trucks.

I totally disagree with this statement! In fact its the opposite. You should learn how to wheel your truck stock, then add what you see fit for what you do.
I wheeled my D2 bone stock on 18" wheels, for 2 years and never broke anything!

The problem is most people are idiots and dont know how to drive. Knowing when to say when and back down from an obstacle is the difference between driving home and breaking shit.

I would rather wheel easy trails with a stock truck then spend 2 years building something and never use it!

Totally agree with the above. In fact, I would say that your average stock LR owner that uses his/her truck off road is often a much better driver and tends to experiance much less breakage than someone that waits until their truck is "built" before they hit the trail.

Besides being fun wheeling a stock rig it can save a ton of embarrassment if you can't make an obsticle in your "built" rig and the next guy walks it in his stock unit........or worse, a Jeep!
