yeah spatial. Im not sure how it all works together, but in a HK truck it is VERY noticeable. Is yours HK? i dont think the HU's can be swapped back and fourth and work 100%. also, 99-02 and 03-04 are different IIRC as well (color and possibly more), so there is 4 or more different HU's possible (alpine version)
I am dead sure my original HU looked and acted exactly the same as the one I got from them with an AUX in, except the one i received has the spatial option, which my original one did not. Other than that they are identical.

Spatial imaging enable
The head unit spatial imaging enable output is connected from the head unit to the power amplifier on an SG wire.

So, what does imaging have to do with subs, thats what I want to know.

Do these things have a code? WTF?

The radio has a code, but I've never needed it.

I have the HK head unit and every time I disconnect power (remove HU, disconnect battery neg cable, etc.) I have to enter the code or no worky.

You can get the code from the dealership with a phone call. I can't remember if it was just the VIN or if there is an additional number on the back of the HU; it's been six years since I called to get mine.

With the spatial on, this is what happens:

At 0:39 it should be quite visible.

Cool sound! Is this on stock AMP? Please share your setup! Been wanting to upgrade the stock sound for a long time, I feel some serious soundproofing must be involved as well to succeed.

Is there a test location (three prongs on a base like shown below) on the boards of the DI/DII radios? I opened up the head unit of my DI to do the cd changer hack but didn't know to look for one so I didn't notice. Anyway on the Lexus forums people are just plugging a 3-wire servo plug onto the test location and soldering the plug to an aux jack. I guess it overrides everything when something is plugged into the jack and is off when unplugged. I've been planning on doing this on my LS but haven't got around to it yet.

I have the GROM unit installed on my truck and have loved it the entire time I have had it which is almost 2 years now. You lose the cd changer but mine didn't work so I didn't care. It plugs in the back of the radio in the cd changer plug and you use cd on the radio to access the ipod, steering wheel controls work for switching tracks too! The other cool this is it comes with a 3.5mm aux in jack on the box (which is smaller than a pack of cigarettes and i squeezed in behind the radio) and I ran a wire so I can plug my phone into it and stream internet radio as well, so now my music options are even better.

Levi, talk to me about that test location. Can you please refer me to the forum where you saw that. I have a DI and am looking for a solution to direct wire an input. Perhaps this is all that Roverville does?

Thanks.

That's good to hear.
Some well-respected members here received less than stellar service from Roverville
That's a shame, too.
I've been interested in their LED-lighted Range Rover classic window switches in addition to the radio work.

I have the GROM iPod adapter and have had no issues with it. I'd highly suggest it

There is no such adapter that I know of for the DI. I've seen them for the DII however. If you can point me in the right direction for a DI, I'm all ears.

i'm not well respected, haha, but i tried contacting them at least 5 times before i gave up. it blows me away when you try to give a company money and they don't bother with even the slightest effort.

like i said earlier the mp3 converter at AB is as simple as it gets.

Yes, that's weird that some got good service from Roverville and others got nothing!

Is the AB kit similar to the Blitz?

How do you remove the radio from the dash?
I assume you need some kind of little *key* for those slots...
