Why should I donate to Discoweb?
As you know, Discoweb is full of information, which is available for free. The website gets thousands of hits every hour, and this allows you to communicate with Land Rover owners from all over the world. Chances are pretty good that you will find an answer for the question you are looking for.

Operating a website of this size is not easy. There is a considerable amount of money spent every year to keep the site available. There is also a huge amount of time spent to keep the site updated with fresh content.

Since we hate pop up ads as much as you do, advertising is not a viable resource revenue for Discoweb. We have made a conscious decision to keep the site ad free, and have no plans to introduce ads anytime in the foreseeable future. Instead, we rely on support from the people who actually use the site, through product sales and donations.

The money you donate will be spent to defray the cost of operating DiscoWeb, and will help ensure that DiscoWeb stays available and ad-free.

Thank you for your support.

Axel, Ho and Kyle.

I have never sold a thing here but have sent money. I did so because this site & its rescources have saved me money & time. I also believe in this site & enjoy the freedom allowed by its owners. {ESP add free!.}

How would you, or Marc, know what I've posted?
You are kidding right!

brad if you go back and look I have had some good things to say about your bumpers.

your rack I wasent at all impressed with.

If you go look in the forsale section where you should be posting this stuff it clearly asks for a donation when you sell something and I know for a fact that other business' that sell stuff from here donate on a regular basis.

This site is about the community not about the vendors that sell here. The vendors are a great resource and the 4 or 5 guys that part out trucks have been a huge help to this community over the years as well.

You can call me the bad guy all you like but what have I ever done other then offer my opinion when you asked for it on a open forum?

So everybody "take a good look not to often you get to see a bad guy like me"

Ya know Musky, you're right, I was wrong to group you with those guys.
I apologize.
I'm working hard on not taking this stuff personal and some days are better than others.
Today I'm installing headers through all this so life suckage is in overdrive.

Are you required to donate to Dweb if you don't actually sell anything here?

Not required, however show me a place that offers free advertising to a target market to your specialized product.

And if you take that personal, you need to take three deep breathes, down a beer and think twice to responding to this post:cool:

There's lots of other guys pimping their shit on here who never get hit up about donations

They probably make them. Or not:)

I'd just wish Rob took up building more copies of his bumper, or farmed it out to somebody.

Brad - one comment about your bumpers: to me, the tubes look disproportionately thin. A 3" Dia may look better.

I'm not opposed to making a donation, it just seemed odd that people were giving him shit for not selling any product, then the same people were giving him shit for not making a donation, when, if you read the rules, they only ask for a donation if you sell something. Pirate has classifieds for free, but if you want to pimp your company's shit you pay a small fee to become a vendor, memebers can chose to pay a small fee to have access to a few of the more nudy-pic filled sub-forums, and there's lots of free parts given away by the vendors that you're only eleigable to win if you pay te small memebership fee. There's hundreds of forums out there to pimp your parts on for everything for free, some offer payed advertising and there's people that will more readily purchase from a sponsor than a nobody, but most all forums let you post your press-releases, new parts, builds, whatever you want for free.

Who is and isn't making donations, the only people who actually know are Ho and Axel, as for who gets hit up for donations by non-moderators, I only see it with products that some people don't like, everybody just assumes the guys they like do make a donation. Never seen Justin get hit up for selling Equipe parts on here, he probably does make a donation, but nobody has ever posted and asked, the Gobi racks guy (who, if anybody is guilty of trying to make a quick buck off Rover guys, it's Gobi) got asked in like the seccond post in the thread.

I call bullshit.

I also call you a liar. You clearly stated that you "were done with Dweb". Yet, you're still here.

Go back to lrrf. And as far as being invited there, go back and look at my join date.

Oh wow Dan you really burned me there,I believe I have the right to post wherever I want. As far as your Join date on LRRF your point is................................? You stumbled upon the site from an Ebay listing a full year after I was INVITED to join that community? I looked at your user ID and am glad you have refrained from posting there, your anonymity only contributes to the sites positive well being. Call me what you want, your shitty attitude and attempts to discredit me only carry weight amongst your peers here. If I am such a burden on Dweb then why have Axel an Ho not removed me from this site.

Rob, Nice bumper, defenately THE best home brew box bumper I have ever seen.

PT you are certainly mistaken, posts on LRRF a rarely edited by mods.

I have never sold anything on Dweb but have contributed to the site monetarily.

The point I am trying to get across is Roxtar has posted a bumper he has built for the purpose of making the Rover public aware of his products, what's the problem besides some of you don't favor his designs?

Yeah, what is the problem? We don't like it. We think it looks like shit. He came here looking for opinions and he got them. If he did not want opinions, he would have never posted the thread.

On the other hand, you do like. You will never buy one, but you claim that you like it.

So, why are you still here? I thought you were "done with Dweb"?

If you like his bumper, fucking show it them and put one on your fucking truck. Until then, you're talking out of your ass. If this is something you like, and think there is a market for it, put your money where your mouth is. Replace your current bumper with this one and show your support for the design.

It would be favorable for all of us if you would pull your head out of your ass before you talk. I have already discussed the details of purchasing his rear bumper and rack. As far as my front bumper goes, I recently committed myself to a new winch bumper of my own design. Unfortunately I built my new bumper on my rig as I went and welded the whole program on so the possibility of ever running any bolton bumper is forever gone. If my front bumper ever comes off It will have a few feet of frame going with it and a engine cage going in it's place.

I have already sold my SD rack and my original home brew bumpers to fund the purchase of his products, if that not support I don't know what is.

Dan, take a pill cowboy, you don't want to hurt yourself getting all worked up.

You can't like something without buying it? I guess there's a lot of people out there lying about what they do and don't like.

He has, hasn't he? I was about to ask him if the bumper was okay after the truck was gone...
But - I can imagine Rob not having this bumper drawn in Solidworks. At least, not entirely.
This is THE shit, baby.
