Some of these wholesale places that specialize in former state vehicles have Crown Vics from universities and other state organizations that don't beat the piss out their cars. They can get around a race track quite nicely too - you'd be surprised.

Take a drive down to South Golden Road.
There's a consignment car dealer there with a buncha SUVehicles. Bear-something-or-other.
Right next door is LinDen Engineering.
If you're not the fix-it-yourself type of fella, go say hi to Dennis; he owns LinDen.
He'll be your go-to rover guy.
There's another small used car lot down the road, too.
For a nominal fee, Dennis will check out a used vehicle for you.
If it's a rover you're looking at, he has the magic box to talk to them.
LOL
There are a lot of ex-patrol chargers around here if you look. But I'm a fan of the tahoe...
Seeing as you're in Palm Beach now just go for the Cadillac Brougham and be done.
Stay away from the '07+ chevys unless the engine has been replaced. Then, turn off the active fuel management system.
I understand what you are saying.
but i am beyond broke right now. I was just trying to hold off on buying something untill my wife a got a job.
My other option is to just get new base Imprezia with super cheap car payments, then replace my wife's car with something when that day comes. She is the primary kid hauler, so she needs something a bit bigger than I.
Private party Sub, Monument Motors and Summit Auto would be your best bet for Sub. But I really am not a Sub fan after owning one. Certainly not an impreza. Likely to have high insurance as well.
Frankly if I were going to go new or nearly new on a car built for CO, while I had an allowance it would be a Tacoma. Hands down.
You should at least give Kia an Hyundai a chance if you are considering Sub.
The Tacoma is crazy expensive. It really is. I would love to own one but damn!
I've got to agree. I was looking for a used one, but trying finding one (4WD not 2WD) under $10K that isn't 10+yrs old and with > 250K miles? good luck.
yea i was browsing the sub forums and they seem to think motors blowing up at 150k miles is okay.
Land Rover owners seem to think that doing head gasket jobs every 75,000 miles is the norm. Not to mention the slipped liners, cracked blocks from overheating, etc. We all have our quirks.
Here's a really nice one. Manual trans and rear e locker. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/ctd/4739070832.html My favorite generation Taco too.
