Ok at least we can discuss engineering - i decided against powder coating for the simple reason that its dark enough under there but whilst oiling up you would have a better chance of seeing an opening crack on the two outside mounting bolt area's - on my own rig you actually do see the spacers.
Just a personal decision - besides which they are machine polished and id have to etch prime them to stop the coating from flaking.
