You're killing me with these Elk porn pictures man... And I'm out of venison as of last weekend.. Damn, you keep posting these things and I'm going to have to go and take a ride through this neighborhood that I know of and hit one with my truck... Or go make a stealth freezer run over at the parents house :)

I just dropped off about 600 pounds of meat at the butchers yesterday.. Funny thing was , the old man shows up with a little white tail he shot yesterday AM and it weighed less then the rack off the bull we brought home.... lol

Stop by if you get down this way and I will give you a few Elk steaks. If you have never had it you will be hooked....The tender loins weighed about 20 pounds or so... :)

No, I haven't seen a Red Stag, although I've seen stags in Europe. They're not anywhere near the size you're showing. To get as close as you did to take those pics, you'd probably have to go to Rocky Mountain National Park out here. The 7X7 I got scored in the low 300's, if I remember right. One thing it got dinged for was a broken brow tine, but that's okay. It's mounted on an Austrian plate, hanging in a friend's store and about every 3 months someone wants to buy it. I think not:)

Well I have a prety decent zoom on this Camera I am using so I would stalk the clearings and make like a tree. However , as you can see I got busted quite alot in the process. The place is littered with spruce so its like walking on a carpet in there. We ran up on this stag trying to catch a few winks , he didnt care for the polaris much

Well, my dads freezer weighs a little less now.. :) I think that he took pitty on me cause I can't make the trip in a couple of weeks with him and my uncle to the Adirondacks.

So how long of a trip is that for you, Kyle? I guess I'm spoiled in that there are big bulls within an hour of here, but me thinks it may be prudent to expand my horizons a bit. We do for Pheasants, Quail and Grouse, but that's because there haven't been any in Colorado for 15 years. Beautiful stag by the way.

He may not be nearly as big as those big ass elk, but for a white tail in the GWNF, I don't think he's that bad. I get this pic just before he busted back into the woods. It's pretty blurry, and about a 120 yard shot, but you can still see how wide he is. It's not very often you see a descent rack buck on National Forest land around here.

where i'm at right now, duh...
Thanks for the new background Kyle.

I've been hunting mulies and pronghorns for years, but I've never been elk hunting. The attendance rules are strict at my school, and my folks won't let me miss class for an elk hunt.

I can't wait till the day comes when that first elk tag arrives in the mail...
