One question.... Why is he still standing? You waiting for his rack to get bigger? That is one fine looking beast.. Now that I think about it that would be a shame to hang on a wall.. Ok, enough thinking.. Why is it still standing? :D

Kyle, something to think about for a future outing.. Could go up to Alaska and hunt some Brown Bears..

Only reason one of those puppys aren't standing in my living room is cause I was on my honey moon and didn't have my damn gun.

Well in some sick way I have too much respect for that second one to put a pill in him we have gone round and round for two years straight now. He doesnt like me in his zone... I was just hunting with the camera at that point , I already had mine on the ground.. But isnt every pic of a dead one pretty much he same ? Its the live ones that that get the old heart beating fast...

The old man actually went to AK and killed his brown last year.. I want to go but really dont want to shoot one. You cant bring the meat back with you so I cant see the point in shooting him for his hyde and skull..

You sure about that? We went fishing on our honeymoon and had no problem getting them back.

Where there is a will there is a way.. Besides.. I got friends in AK :)

However, it was really nice to just stand there and look at 13 brown bears in 3 hours while eating lunch.. Some thing I hope to see agian but, glad that I atleast got to see it once.

Well, some thing to think about.. I was going to go up there last weekend for two weeks but, I'm gals I didn't.. I was going to go to Nome and they had some storm issues to the tune of 40 foot waves over their seawalls... I hear it really messed up the place.

This is one of another fellow that walked into an area we call "The Arena" and begged me to join him. We call it the arena because they constantly fight there during the rut...

Yeah , only the native indians can take the meat from AK so itsleft for the eagles to eat. Fish are exempt.... Its the same for whales and most other things. YOu cant even take a whales tooth from a dead one..

Well.... You never know and I'll just leave it at that.. It could be possible though.. But, I'm not going to talk about it here. The locals (non-indian/non-inuit) can hunt and eat it... I think that it can be done.. I'll send you an email about it..

Looked like a damn good time man.. I'm jealous..

Rifle , Other weapons get the job done , but the closer to instantaneous death I can get , the happier I am. Thats up in Canada and those are Manitoban Elk , larger then the Rocky mountain Elk you are used to seeing three in CO...

Those look a LOT bigger! I was the local hero when I shot a 7X7 about 10 years ago, and those look every bit of that. Very cool!

Have a buddy who got an animal 10 years straight with a compound bow. 3 years ago he switched to a long bow (hiawatha), and has gone dry. I guess that will happen when your range has to be about 15-20 yards, but it didn't stop him from getting a pheasant with an arrow last week.

Yeah , they are that much bigger. There isnt a single one of those that dont score in the low 400s. The really funny thing that I notice is that the Manitoban is even different natured compared to the Rocky mountain Elk. The manitobans are cocky proud bastards with much wider muscular faces . They will take you on in a heart beat to see what you are made of. The Rocky mountain Elk is spooked easier and doesnt have features as strong as the manitoban. However , I have noticed that there are fewer nice typical even racks amongst the big manitobans. The Rocky mountain Elk certainly has a prettier rack as far as uniformity.... Have you ever seen a red stag up close and personal ?
