150 isn't a big deal. I'm kinda pissed though because I went on a trail not long before it broke and my discovery is muddy as all hell and I can't wash it with a window being wide open. I doubt the dealer will like mine coming in covered in mud but I'm not washing it with the window down.

You can take off the door panel and manualy slide the glass back up. A door jamb shim will hold it in place until you can get it fixed.

I took the door panel off and I couldn't get the window to budge. I put a good bit of pressure on it and then quit before I broke something.

If it is stuck take the two bolts out of the bottom track.

When mine went, SWMBO was driving, and she pissed around with the window switch so much trying to get it to work that the motor got toasted as well!

Needed new motor and mech $600! :(

Easy fix if you want to save 150 bucks.

Just pull the assembly out, line the old welds back up, clamp the gear back onto the arm, drill, tap, install screws with red loctite and grind the threads flush. You're done.

Yeah I'm just mad I can't wash mine. My interior looks new (disco has 55K) and is spotless so I don't want to risk shooting a bunch of water in it YET. Never know when washing a car which way the water is going to splash.

One more ?...What do those metal circular things that they sell aftermarket for the windows do? Should I go ahead and buy those and replace those out with the door panels off?

Check to see if the window is still in the tracks . Mine slipped out and was stuck until I put it back in the channel

Depending on how valuable your time is.... I'd suggest a new one, but I can't weld.

I had the wife weld it, the arc gear ended up backwards... Drilled it out, set it right, it worked but was really labored. Finally, worried that the motor would burn out, it got replaced it.

Two teardowns and a false start and then $130 dollars. I got smacked. To each his own, but it's a two hour job the first time. D-1 RHFrt.

I'll check my rollers when I take my door off again tomorrow to fix my window and see if these will work for mine. If so I'll go ahead and order them for my driver and passenger front windows. I like to ride with my windows down so hopefully installing this metal rollers will help.

ive never had the rollers be a problem on the rovers, only the BMW's. you could replace them if you want. let me know how well they fit. maybe ill start putting them in?

Two Cold Soakers your wife is a badass...I've never dated a girl that knew what a weld was haha.

I'm tearing it back down tomorrow and am going to actually look at it this time. I changed the spark plugs and wires before taking off the door panel so I wasn't in much of a mindset to mess with it much at the time. I'll take several pictures of it.
