Ok hee it is.

Sunday parked the D1 in a parking lot to get my friends bike out from inside the beast. The D1 was parked on a very slight down hill grade in 'Park' mode. Chatting to my mate as I walked back to the rear of the D1 when I had to sprint to the drivers door to jam on the brake lever, the bloody thing was moving forward in park. Monday on the way to a ride the beast appeared to be running very hot, I watched as it has been in the 100's and the top cowling of the fan shroud is off (broken latches) but it dropped in temp over the next couple of miles. Tuesday went to go back to my shop I got in and started the beast I put her in reverse and there was an incredible sound as I passed through neutral into drive, like a box of stones put into the gearbox/ tfer case? Put her into drive and the noise stopped drove forward into the drive again and put her in park and the noise kicked in again?

Any ideas guys where i should start looking in the morning, as it is pissing down with rain and the roof rack prevents access to the garage.

Cheers

It sounds like you broke the parking prawl (I think that's what it's called)...no shit, it holds the transmission in park. Basically, you've dropped some metal into the ththing and ground up what was left...

Thanks for the reply.

I tried the bugger the next day, started up A-Ok no noises, nipped to the Jiffy lube a new bout of transmisson fluid and a flush out and everything seems Hunky Dory.

Cheers
