People have cut fenders and put on DII flares... the DII flares look really sharp on a DI IMO.

ECR flares...yuck!

just do the D2 flares if you want flares really bad..they look a lot better in my opinion

With my 34s i only had to trim a little, as long as you roll everything once your done cutting, it will all look factory and smooth. ill post some pics of my rolled fenders

thanks all i did is I too electrical tape and marked where I wanted to trim, about 2 inches sbove the stock roll under, then i trimmed on that line, and used a pair of rubber nose channel locks to slowly!!! bob it back under to look stock. then i bent the old mud flap bracket up, and cut the old mounting brace and re welded it to the height I WAnted. Then all you have to do is re drill the whole for the bolt to brace the fender. It only took about an hour its really easy anyone can do it. Good luck.

The ECR like flares really open up the wheel well. I installed them on my D1 (see photo gallery - Roger Fastring) and was impressed how much it allowed you to hack off the rear door. I have 33x10.50s now and will be lowering my truck from 4.5" down to 2.5" of lift with the narrow 33s. Getting the RTE arms and upper mount that allows you to push the rear axle back a little helped too. Good luck.
