well, I tried beating on it from the inside and outside... with a 4x4 about 3ft long laying on the ground spreading all all the force across the wheel and tire..... NOTHING....

I just watched that video... wow.... considering that i just took the cutting torch and headed the wheel from each lugnut hole to the center cap area.... and it still did not move, beating it back and forth!!!... NOTHING!.....

Sprayed the hell out of it with PB Blast again... I'm going to try putting the pipe in the wheel and try and turn it back and forth next... after that i guess i will try and put a bottle back on its side and a 4x4 on each side and try and force the wheels off that way!....

I really dont want to ruin both hubs... the one i dont care... but i dont want to replace the other one too!... Might have to buy new wheels and just beat them with the sledge???

I always manage to get them off, but if I ever run into a situation where the normal methods don't work, I've planned to use a jack, rather than beating on things any further. Generally, letting the penetrating lube seep in overnight helps a lot. I have also found that Liquid Wrench REALLY works better than many other products. I haven't found PB Blaster to be very impressive. Liquid Wrench works like magic, and Seafoam works, to some greater degree than PB.

I once had a bolt that I knew I was going to snap off. I knew it. I had tried everything. A friend was over, sitting in a chair and laughing at me. He finally brought out a can of that Liquid Wrench. One squirt, about 2 minutes, and it spun right out. I couldn't believe it. I've used it since, with the same results.

I haven't had a chance to use a jack yet, but I'll bet it will work when I have to.

Cheers,

Kennith

What I would not have thought of is that ignition temperature of rubber decreases with increase of air pressure. It is obvious, in retrospect, but I wouldn't have thought of that.

I'll agree with the PB Blaster comment. That stuff sucks but it's the only thing people have heard of so they buy it.
I use AeroKroil.

I used a 3/4" drive T-bar and socket, and put a floor jack under the end of the handle. It lifted up the (Series Rover) until that corner was slmost off the ground before it finally loosened, but my guess is that technique would do just about any wheel nut.

Kroil is great but if you want something better mix acetone and ATF in a 50/50 blend.

As far as blowing a tire with the torch just remove the valve core so pressure can't build up.

The host is a fucking dork.

Good feedback, maybe next time they will hire Ty Pennington instead of a guy who knows what he is talking about to liven it up for you.

I get Kroil & Nut Cracker from the plant here for free. Given enough time the Kroil seem to seep better into things. Anyone try that stuff that freezes things, saw it at NAPA but it was like $9 a can.

BTW, the vid was scary, never would have suspected something like that would have happened.
