Wheelin in the sand

Hey guys,
Looks like I'm heading to the Dunes next weekend with the '96 discovery. Haven't been wheelin in the sand since my stock jeep wrangler. Did fine then, but it was lightweight, good stance, and tons of torque. I'm just wondering what I can expect of the Discovery. How do they fare in the sand? Anything I need to keep in mind? I know these are pretty amature questions, I just want to be prepared.
