LOL I have that same picture with me in front of it taken about three weeks ago. No one else in my family really appreciated it as much as I did. I really liked the fake mud that was painted all over it. That FJ40 in the parade was pretty sweet too.

And then there were these nice examples of cousin Jeep and Toyota...
I have been there four times in the last 6 years, mostly on business. But I hit the Safari ride as soon as it opens, go through three or four times before it starts to crowd up, and the heat drives the animals to shade, run over to Indonesia and get soaked, then back to Kenya to sit in the shade and drink Tusker and wait for the parade.

Reviving an old thread.

We went to Animal Kingdom last week and got a shot of my better half with the 88". Also the parade vehicles do not have petrol engines but are driven by electronic motors in the rears of the vehicles. They do still have 3rd members on the front axle but no prop shaft.

No D-web stickers with me to place on that series unfortunately.

Saw the same 88 at Animal Kingdom a decade ago....

Being a true Rover owner, the first thing I did was slide underneath to check it out....

...and was in immediate fear for my life!

The frame is absolute cheese. No engine or gearbox.... Indeed, with such a weight, it would have collapsed into the landscaping long ago. Even managed to apply a ROAV decal to the rear window - which I notice the Disney folks have removed.

Cheers

I thought I was going to cry when I saw that they had Tusker. I sat there, and I was back in the bush in my mind and in my heart. Perhaps it was the memories, but that place really is magic. I don't go to parks at all, but that place changed me. I am already saving for a vacation club membership.

If you have not been, go, go and see for yourself. It's not what you might expect.

Cheers,

Kennith

Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay also has good taste in Vehicles. One of the ride vehicles is a Defender 110 or 130 and it runs on propane. Its for the animal ride, its called Rhino Rally. And its pretty sweet

We should have a photo gallery of all the people from Dweb who had stopped at that truck! I find it pretty funny.

Was supposed to go to Disney in April, but plans fell through. Next time I'm there...I'll check it out.

Simba 1 is the name of the vehicle that you ride in, on the Safari ride at the Animal Kingdom.
