weight of rover v8

Hello what is the typical shipping weight of fully dresses v8 engine for a 96 range rover or disco? Includes manifolds, waterpump, oil pan etc.

Can't remember for certain, but around 520lbs rings a bell. That might just be the long block though, minus the ancillaries

Bah! Mike Slade picked an almost complete engine off the engine stand and put it into a moving van for me.

I can wrestle a shortblock around pretty well alone.

I can squat 400, though I have not tried to squat the engine, I know it's heavier than that.

maybe I'm underestimating the accessory weight.

I've lugged around 3.9 shortblocks no problem

Now on the other hand my brother and I tried removing a Sunbeam Alpine 1725 cc shortblock using 2x4 and chain that kicked our ass and required the engine hoist.

Nothing compares to the IH 345 that we swapped. That thing would give you a herniated disc by just looking at it.
