Using AC compressor as air compressor

Not going to run AC anymore......so wondering if I can use the compressor as a mechanically driven air compressor for tire inflation etc.

Assuming of course, it doesn't seize up, and can create useful pressure!

The key word is OLD.
They have their own oil reservoir the new style have lube in the freon charge and will burn up quickly.

That is correct. The usually use compressors from window type units A/C, old and noisy.

I've been wanting to do this since the arb compressor is a piece of crap, but I don't want to give up the AC

looks like 2 compressors is doable. I need to move the top compressor up a little to take up the slack on the D2 ACE belt, and the alternator is slightly out of position in relation to the fan shroud upper cover

thats a GM AD244 145 amp alternator in the mockup. hope to send it out for metal fab this week.
