unusual alarm system 92 RRC

1992 RRC 3.9 motor. under the top dashboard cover, on top of the heater unit I found a box labeled "land rover alarm unit" . it is not listed in rave. I was told that this is a "dealer installed" alarm system. Its wires go to the large round connector in the engine bay and also goes to a speaker labeled "land rover" bolted to the charcoal cannister bracket, there is also a 5 amp fuse and a metal relay with a green stripe on top, with this wiring harness. My question is how can I disable this alarm as I have no use for it nor do I have the remote to operate it. Thanks....Pat

easiest way would be to pull the wiring harness out of the brain. Shouldn't interfere with anything. My dealer added alarm was under the driver's seat, but it was an alpine. If you plan on putting an alarm or remote door lock in there, try to use the same wiring, if it's functional.
