Would anyone know what this connector is used for? It was found on a 1996 Disco during some water ingress repairs and it appears to be disconnected.

Connector C245 (See page 505 of ETM of RAVE CD).

Yes, it does seem to be a serial connector to the ECU. I did a thorough search on RAVE and I just wondered how this connector was used. Testbook? OBD reader? Is it for reprogramming? Does anyone have experience using this?

Positive. I forgot to mention that this is a loose connector from a 1996 Disco - in New Zealand.

OK, it is most likely the serial mating connector for the ECU. There should be another connector that is attached to it that will mate to it.

It requires a Rover-specific computer.

So it's a spare data link not used at all for Disco I's. Perhaps used during manufacturing or assembly?

Thanks for the info.
