Note to self. Mud isnt combustible and MAF no likey mud. After flushing the muddy water out of the cylinders and cleaning the MAF with brake cleaner, I had to McGuyver a solution for the shot air filter (in pic). Used a T-Shirt. Wheeled the rest of the day :D
now that's hardcore!

Here's one from last weekend. The disco got buried pulling out the jeep and then the Mog almost got stuck trying to yank the two of them. The mog couldn't get the tires spinning fast enough so we had 8 guys behind it pushing with all of our might. It worked.

Im next. And of course I gotta try. I made it up the other side and was coming out of the hole when the engine stalled and died. Rolled back in. 3" of mud in the floor boards.

Yeah I went through that like two trucks before you. I was locked up, so it was a breeze for me, but otherwise you definitely needed some momentum to get through that. Actually maybe I went through it first? Shit I can't remember. We got drunk back at camp that night.

Oh, and back on topic: The only time I've ever been stuck enough that I had to winch, I dropped my camera in the hole that was swallowing my truck. Go figure.

Yep, I thought there was one or two ahead of us that made it. Werent you in a white D1? Or was it the black D2? I was running open diffs at the time, but was doing fine and had a decent line. Either, didnt get a good push on the water to move it out of the way or went to fast and sprayed it everwhere. The beer did taste good that night.

Good times. Id like to give it another run. Truck is a bit different now.

Here's me a week ago. I got stuck trying to rescue a Jeep that was about to roll. Unimog is letting me down the hill after finding he also cannot backup due to too loose off camber hill. He eventually went sliding forward down the hill yelling the whole way :D

Initial stuck pic as I am sliding towards the TJ (It's steeper and more loose than it looks!):

Oh man... I still find some clay/hardened into ceramic under my truck from running that 8 years ago. I now despise mud.

The only way to get that good'ol Hollister mud of is a hammer and chisel.
Plus you end up dragging 80#'s of mud home with you. My wife still hasn't forgiven me for washing the rig in the driveway last time.

LOL, you can easily straddle the fine line between okay and trouble there!
But I hate the place - not a speck of green for miles, except for the lone palm tree near the campground.
