I have sure been thru my share of issues lately......here's a new one. My truck will not shift out of low range. I have done a few searches on the web and dweb but haven't really found any answers or pointers for that matter. In addition, the truck does not seem to want to shift thru the gears in Drive. I can go thru them manually, though. It sounds to me like my tranny is going bad (please, spare the giant tire comments;-)

thoughts???

Actually, I need to pull it back very slightly.... I need to crawl under there and adjust the switch. I finally have thing working again. ....including refitting a lock tumbler into the new door handle that was taken off by a fly by limb that came up from the front wheel. ...wonders never cease;-)

Thanks for the brain tickler on the switch gents...

I had this at the weekend too, and after fidling with the brake light switch, got it to shift out of low range.....

and now the brake lights stay on........and the plunger does not hit the peddle shaft....did i knock something off ?

Ie does the black switch plunger touch directly on the steel peddle shaft ?

Just found this and off home to give it a go.....

Push the brake pedal slightly with one hand & try to turn the switch clockwise to lock it into its bracket. It shouldn't take much force, so don't break it. While still holding the pedal forward, find the button of the switch that rides on the pedal arm. Pull that button FIRMLY forward until you hear at least 3 clicks, then release the pedal and listen for clicks as it auto-adjusts itself.
