Does anybody have an inexpensive one? I'm having a hard time paying $140 for a couple brackets and 4 or 5 bolts(no damper). I know I could make one but I'm lazy and cheap, a bad combination:D .
Who makes the one in the Tech section? I really like it but can't find it.
Also, it needs to be bolt on, none of that welding nonsense.

I don't mind forking out the cash for a part but $140 for a couple scraps of metal really chaps my ass.

I don't think you'll find much sympathy around here wanting something for nothing. If you're too cheap to buy it and too lazy to make it, tough shit.

Yes that about summs it up (tough shit) nobody ever bought a landy to save money, you may want to try a kia or something, or buck up and pay for field tested quality parts.

Who's asking for sympathy? I'm asking the poeple with some knowledge on this board for referals as to who makes a relocation kit. Apparantley I need to apologize for not wanting to spend $140 for two pieces on metal. Where do I get that number from? Lucky8 sells the RoverTracks kit. Both places has it going for $220 including the Defender damper. AB has the damper for $80. Soooo 220 - 80 = 140.

I'm well aware that Land Rovers cost some cash to maintain. I'd just rather save as much cash as I can for things that are a little more important. As far as the lazy part; its not so much that I lack the motivation as it is I have too much other stuff on my plate. I'd rather spend a reasonable amount of money on a premade kit and have it done.

If half you guys spent as much time actually being helpful as you do being smart asses posts like this wouldn't drag on for so long.

I've already pm'd HLCFab. Anybody else know of a reasonably priced kit?

I bought a steering damper relocation kit from Rovertym and put it on my RRC. I was happy with it. It's been a while so I don't remember what it cost. The Rovertym website lists something called "Front bolt-on steering stabilizer kit (w/o damper)" for $75. I can't remember if that was the part I bought. Might be worth a phone call to the folks at RTE.

Hope that was helpful.

That kit is not just 2 pieces of metal, it also includes an HD drag link. Do a search, homo.

Hey how about that. I must have missed that when I read the description the first time. I stand corrected, although I won't conceed homosexuality.

I've decided to man-up and fabricate my own. I know the Defender damper is a common substitute. Would there be any issue with using a Disco 2 damper on my Disco 1 so long as my brackets accept it?

I've fabricated my own brackets for relocating. How far compressed / extended should the new stabilzer be when I mount it to the drag link? Exactly in the middle?

Thanks but I've already fab'd my own. Just need to know how compressed / extended the stabilizer needs to be when mounted?
I would assume I should put the wheels dead straight. Then mount the fixed end of the stabilizer to the frame bracket. Compress / extend the stabilizer exactly 50/50, and attach the other end to the drag link.
Sound about right?

A while ago, I lost one bolt holding the steering damper to the bars, I had not idea how long I was driving it like that, my guess is at least 2 months before I notices.
