why is the output shaft on the range rover auto transmission fine splines where the output shaft of the discovery auto transmission is course splines? wanted to replace a borg warner tcase for a lt230 and the tcase input splines are different! course for lt230 and fine spline for borg warner!

You probably need the newer style output shaft:

The stub shaft on a RR has shorter splines, the splines are not cut far enough back on the stub shaft to work with the lt230, a D1 or D2 stub will need to be used.
