Honestly dude... it looks like it COULD be some sort of tarantula or wolf, any markings closer up?
I'd say it's a tarantula unless it has any weird markings. We don't get those in the NE so I can't say for sure. I want to say it's an Oklahoma Brown tarantula, here's another example. Different hair though, who knows...
Looks like the tarantulas we used to get in our laundry in S. California. Don't know why, but they loved laundry.
Hate the bastards, all set with that. They fascinate and terrify me, not sure I would have let this one live in my house for that long.

Spiders don't bother me, but that thing is not a spider - it's a freak of nature.

if that freak of nature is still on your property AND not paying you rent, get some Avon skin so soft. get some chalk and circle that squatters travels. then hose down the perimeter with Avon skin so soft. report back on his travels. let us all know if he avoids the area you sprayed with Avon skin so soft.
ive been told time and time again that Avon skin so soft is the BEST insect repellant, and if your tests prove conclusive i will be purchasing Avon skin so soft by the gallon, because that isnt a just a bug home boy. that is a problem.

growing up playing golf in the carolinas in the summer I can attest that avon SSS is the deal, keeps everything off of you. it can be very greasy but it works so just put it on and dont touch yourself.
