small crack in exhaust manifold... rattling cats... what to do/expect?

ok, so I was doin my usual under the hood look around, seeing what is leakin etc etc..

and low and behold, a small black line in my passenger side exhaust manifold..

2000 D2 vin YA253186 (for recall searches)

soooo, I never had to deal with this before, and I will have to hire it out as I dont have proper tools right now...

drive or not drive?

effects on engine?

aftermarket options??

upgrades??

also, I was looking around the engine because one of my cats is rattling, so was looking to replace y-pipe...

so here I am considering a block back exhaust fix/upgrade..

I am not pumped full of cash, so any suggestion would be appreciated!

drill a very small hole at both ends of the crack and then fire up the mig welder and draw a bead down the crack.

I've rock JB weld on mine before without issue, if you don't have the "boom done" tools laying around. And cats can be replaced on the cheap at any muffler shop. I think mine were sub $100 last time.
