Setting up a sting advice....

Ok, I'm pissed. Alarm goes off again tonight at 3:00 AM.

I own a commerical building where I run my business. I frequently park one of my trucks there. Recently, multiple attempts have been made to break into my building. I.E. trying to pry up one of the bay doors. My vehicle has been broken into multiple times. There is a crime spree in Columbus, OH.

The cops are no help. We have survelliance cameras but the footage is inconclusive. Of course we have an alarm, but these guys are smash and grab type of crooks.

I want to set up a sting to catch and detain these fuckers.

Any advice where I can go to see what am I allowed to do by law? I know I cannot shoot over property, but can if I am being robbed. I'm not interested in dealing with any "gray area" over this.

CPD most likely will not like the idea of you trying to detain these guys yourself. Especially if a weapon is involved or if you somehow hurt one of them. Might open yourself up to a lawsuit. I will ask one of my friends who is a CPD officer what he thinks. If there is a way to do it and keep yourself out of the grey, this guy will know it. Lets just say he is not a boyscout Dudly Doright.

A shop dog might help you out here too. Most guys like that will not mess with a place that has a big dog around. Barking draws too much attention. Kinda like a guy breaking into your car while blowing the horn the whole time.

Call Dan Chapman.. He is highly involved with/in SpecialOPS

He is good at establishing a mole... More than likely this is an inside job.
I have seen up close and personal Dan's "SpecialOPS". It not something I want to see again. The only reason I saw it that time is because wanted me too. I will never veiw sheep the same way.

worked on you..and you like him.

i am more than sure the same operation could prevent from this guy coming back as well.

From what I have been told .... and not to mention any names of the guy down in Wilmington that told me but...
Government officials are exploring the "SpecialOPS" Chapman approach to utilize in prisoner camps. It is considered a bit kinder... Although special groups like PETA are strongly against the procedure...

Sometimes I wake in the morning with odd feelings of supressed memories just below the level of concious recall. One time I woke with an idling chain saw next to the bed.
Tamy always says, "what did you and Dan do last night?", I never know.

With all the Cash and Carry gun shows in OH, why not buy a THROW AWAY, ( make sure you have a latex glove when handling it )

Go and spend the night/s at the place, and PRESTO, shoot the MOFO and then if but any chance they were empty, nicely place the throw away in the hand

DISCLAIMER: I am not providing you with advice, just how I saw it in a dream

Down here for construction sites they have a small mobile carrier that they use for security. It has an independent power source, tons of cameras both normal and IR, and has spotlights. You may want to consider rending one of these or at least looking into it as they may have a more concealed unit. Just my 2 cents.

Sure, that's a good idea. There is no way anyone will put two and two together on that one.....

I like the guard dog idea. A big Rottweiler or two should be a good deterrent. A well trained Rottweiler makes a good pet, too.

ok..I have a pretty 'robust' security system, doors, windows, motion, and glass breakage, and perimeter lamps and sensors for the gated portions of my property

not that I anticipate trouble, but one never does. Should trouble find me, and make its way into my home, I'm 'prepared', and god help you if youre anywhere NEAR my garage...

LOL.

I like the idea of deter. perhaps yo need better motion and better door/window/glass breakage sensors, lights sirens and such..Place your lamps high up so they cant unscrew the bulbs.

You dont want to find trouble, really

My policy is simple, once youre inside my castle, your ass becomes my lawyers problem. If you even think that you wanna take aim(which I dont think is a good idea at all), talk to your lawyer and retain in advance. Make sure it is a lawyer you know and trust

If you want to play surveillance, alert the PD in advance, get some bluetooths and radios and night vision and be sure to assemble a team for this, establish layers. do not engage, just call CPD.

Be safe
Good luck

Sarcasm duly noted, but at the end of the day, OH has Castle Law, even extended to vehicles, so, you trespass with malicious intent, your ass is grass, no need for explanations

I would build a device that mounted under the floorboards of the car and would swing out with enough force to break an ankle or two when the car door opened. Could be done in a couple hours time with a Cadillac hood hinge and a piece of bar stock. Sit in the building and watch it on camera. When the guy hits the ground, go outside with the chloroform rag and put the guy in the trunk, drive to an abandoned pumping station and dump him. Leave a note in his pocket about bear season opening this weekend written on the wrapper of a fish sandwich from mickey d's.

Rotties make great loveable sleep in your bed pets
Very loyal and affectionate. Just like my german shepherd. Just dont look at the size of her teeth when she comes up to lick you.

(can make the postman pee a little when he comes up to my door, but thats a good thing)

Rots are adorable.
Great with kids too.

Try owning one. Its a joy.

bovw, ever consider a career in comedy? I'm still crackin up from your iraq o'ribs post

I would just not tell anybody that you will be sleeping there and keep a nice pump 12 gauge and a hand gun. The sound of pumping a shotgun is a very good deterrent.
