If he had grounds to make the charges, he should have contacted the prosecutor, rather than conducting his own rogue investigation.

LEOs should know better and act within the law. If the LEOs break the law to enforce it, should the law be enforced?

The reason I bring this up is beacause I know the whole story considering his son is a friend of mine. Given my story may be biased, I still think its bull what is happening. Alioto was looking for the records (I know he should have done it in a more legal fasion), but to get proof that the other guy was screwing the department and the taxpayers (my family, friend, me, ect..).

I guess it just bothers me that the other guy turned this around onto Mr. Alioto, completely avoiding punishment for what he did wrong.. which was much worse.
