I have a safari gard front bumper on my truck that I got used, but it came without the hoist rings on it for recovery and I'd like to ad them. I found this page and see a ton of options but am not sure what weight lifting capacity I should get. Does anyone know what the strength rating on the ones this bumper came with were? Or do you guys have any suggestions besides just get the 30k lbs OS which would makes the hoist rings cost 4 times what I paid for the bumper!

Here is the link that I'm looking at http://www.mcmaster.com/#hoist-rings/=o7m5ta

There's been a lot of talk about the swivel hoist shackles. Some believe they are grossly inadequate. Maybe call Tactical Rovers and see what they recommend since their bumpers come with the swivel hoist rings.

I wouldn't use any of those.

See what Crosby has. They will be a lot better than those ones.

A big enough one with a WLL that i would trust for this application would be ridiculous, there are better options than swivel hoist rings.

I think they have done away with their swivel rings. They now include proper D-ring mounts.

I have an SG bumper with swivel hoist rings and I like them.
I think they are 1"-8 hoist rings with a 10k rating.
Mine have a very large backing plate behind the bumper face plate.
The hoist ring also have a very high mounting torque requirement.
I think mine are torqued to 175 ft/lbs.

Remember that true overhead lift hoist rings will have 5x safety factor.
The bumper face plate or mounts will most likely fail before the hoist ring will.

The hoist rings on mine did not come with it.
I "liberated" them from work. We used them to lift big steel plates in a machine shop.
I used the biggest ones I could easily fit inside the bumper.
