Pulling the trigger...on CFP.

I saw Ho's setup the other day. He has the marine board set up. It looks nice, as he did a really good job of cutting it out and installing it.

Although, I have to say everything points to the chicken flooring.

Ordered my slabs and joining the CFP.

I have used mine a lot since I installed it and it has worked perfectly. It looks like it belongs up there. As a matter of fact, most people who comment on the Disco are suprised to find out it didn't come with the rack.

It is very durable and quite light. I have 2 4X8 ft sheets of 1/2 inch thick seaboard in the garage for another project. That stuff weighs far too much for the roof in my opinion. Even if you used 1/4 inch sheet, it would be far heavier then the chicken flooring.

I love my chicken coop floor. :D

Cheers,

Kennith

BTW, if you get the FarmTek catalog, this flooring is now listed as Kennel Flooring, Chicken Flooring, Attic flooring and Bench tops. I wonder how long before it's listed as roof top flooring?

Got mine installed today with help from Abraham and Gwie ... real nice! I ended up putting three in a row and just bending one to fit over the curve, then cut a piece to fit the front, came out real nice... as for zipties I got 100 of the 175lb black ones from www.buycableties.com for $20 shipped... got here within a day suprisingly.

Shit soon as my rack is here, I will be installing chkn floor. I am not getting a SD rack but I think it will work very well. Even if it lasts one year, you can replace it umpteen times for the price of that other stuff. I'm with garrett if it suits you then go for. screw the other people...

Just got mine in this week....should be installing it soon. I made custom plywood pieces for mine a few years ago and they finally went south. Thanks to everyone who contributed their experiences with this stuff as it looks to be an excellent solution.

i think i will be installing some on my truck AND in the chicken coop. i removed my diamond plate and favor this flooring due to weight and noise. i am certain this stuff will not break down over a few years. it will take alot longer than that for it to start showing signs of failing.

I will definitiely be doing this with my roof rack. On the use of zip ties, I used to use them to hold my deck down on my D110 and they do not last well, due to UV, salt etc. I found I had to replace annually, so keep an eye on them as they will crack and break (even those rated as UV resistant).

Wow, I know what I'm doing in the near future. That is a sexy looking rack floor solution (well as sexy as a rach floor can be). When I do mine I'll get an extra peice and see how it does as a sand ladders.

By the way am I correct in thinking that chicken coop floor is about 5/8" thick?

Just getting on DWeb again and just love how this thread has stayed alive!

I was out wheeling a couple weekends ago in my new home of Colordao with the Solihull Society. A guy with a D90 was asking me about my flooring on my DII, and I told him about how I had posted my chicken coop flooring solution to a thread on DWeb and it had taken off and become this big thing. Then another guy (DII owner) came up to us and casually said, "Oh, see you went with the chicken coop flooring." I almost died we were laughing so hard!

But now that I've seen all the clever ways you guys are bending it, mine looks like crap in comparison. Think now I'm going to have to redo it!

Ah yes, the teacher becomes the student.

Yes, I too just joined the chicken coop flooring revolution. We will see how it behaves. For 85 bucks including shipping it is hard to beat.
